    Early Leans for Monday (NBA)
    Detroit +9.5
    POSSIBLY (New York +3.5)

Still relatively new to NBA betting but I like Detroit a lot. I know they suck on the road (7-24) but Boston is terrible at home ATS. I know Stuckey is more than likely out and Big Ben is questionable but 10 points is a lot in a game with a total under 200 IMO. Anybody agree?

Philly -3.5 looks like a decent play as of now, but that could all change.

Boston might be the one of the most inconsistent "good" teams in the NBA. They look tired and old against the elite. Soon to be the best faders in the NBA.

The thing about Boston is there's a ton of pressure on them to perform, and they just suffered another embarassing defeat to the Cavs today. They'll play strong tomorrow.

How was that embarrassing? Were they suppose to win in Cleveland? The embarrassing loss was to the Nets in Boston a week or so ago.

In college basketball, you crunch the numbers, take home/away into consideration and make a logical play.

In the NBA, you can do all of that and then go with the opposite of your rational conclusion more often than not.

                                Two totally different beasts.

Totals are much easier in the NBA, though.

boston will probably win the game and they do play good defense, but why do the oddsmakers show they them all this love? 9.5 pts is a lot of points for a team that doesn't play as well at home as they do on the road.

They're supposed to be competitive, and today they were not. At no point in the game were the Cavs in real danger of losing, and didn't play their hardest, yet still stomped the Celtics. I agree the Nets loss was worse, but having a conference rival toy with you for 48 minutes has to sting.

NBA betting is more about understanding why lines are set where they are, whether they're fair or slanted to one side. Always a reason

Yes they are suppose to be competitive, but I don't see it as embarrassing. They know they have slid from the East top ranks, and their play shows it.
