#22379Hey SoV......
We all share a common bond in that we like to gamble and we all wanna take the book's money. There are some hellafied cappers here and some that just really understand sports gambling and have been in the game for a long time. For some time now, I have noticed that your posts have basically said the same thing. You go on sick runs while tailing and you make money, but you lose it just as fast. I can only assume that you consistently try to hit a home run on a daily basis with your bank roll. Basically you are a high risk, high reward gambler. The problem with that mentality is that you will have a difficult time building your roll. EVERYBODY has streaks. Its the nature of the game. Its up to you bro, but it has to get tired and sooner or later it has to hurt to the pocketbook to not build your bank roll or keep going broke. Bottom line, you are never gonna get anywhere if you cant learn the fine art of money management.
When building a bankroll, there are several ways to go about it. First, dont even think of trying to roll large like LB, Paco or some of the other big fish. If you dont have the size in the roll to support that style of gambling one bad day or couple of days will ruin you. If you wanna grind it slowly and build over time, dont risk more than 5% of your roll in any one day. LB, Paco and some others win their LARGE UNIT bets at an alarmingly high rate. So, it may be in your best interests to simply bet their 10x unit or better plays but never risk for than 15 or 20% of your roll on any one day. Either way you will build your roll. I just hate to see you keep posting the same stuff about making money then giving it back. Dont look at this as a thrill or pleasure seeking activity that gives you a rush you cant control. Look at this shit like a business and go out of your way to make sure that you TAKE money on a weekly basis whenever possible. Personally, I take 40% of my weekly winnings and leave the other 60% (sometimes 50-50) to build my roll. I have been able to take money from my book (in varying amounts of course) 82% of the monday's for the last 6 months or so and have increased my roll 8x in the process. This week will be no exception as I am already up more than 20 units this week. Being the cheapskate that I am, I am gonna saw my base unit in half today and sunday to make sure that I will make a significant cash out on Monday. This way I guarantee my money and my roll continues to grow.
Just my thoughts bro, and pardon the rant. Its just painful to keep reading the same shit over and over. With the talent that is here on this thread, there is NO reason for you NOT to make money consistently.Comment -

#22382Paco / ExCap - Excellent work last night. Part of becoming a good capper is making your own plays...obviously. But, when my own plays coincide with yours and LBs, I can almost count my money before the end of the game....good job.
Early Lean for tonight: OVER 5.5 REDWINGS, ORLANDO -2

Something seems a little fishy with that ORL line...I'm thinking vegas knows Joe Public has got to pound the shit out of that line so late line movement could tell us a lot here. My gut tells me that if they set the line at say 8 or 9 like they have been, that most people pound Orlando like they did in games one and two. However if they set the line low it traps more of the amateur cappers (not necessarily Joe Public) in to thinking there's a reason to take ATL so as not to be a square. I just feel like there is a trap here of some sort but not positive this is it. If my hunch is right then I say Orlando wins by 8 or 9.
Im interested to hear LB's thoughts on that line as I hear he is a master at reading linesLast edited by TylerDurden; 05-08-10, 07:15 AM.Comment -

#22385SoV - Please listen carefully to what Jalein said. He's 100% on the money.
I don't know your unit size but I'll just reiterate one more time: When LB or Paco are laying 15x, 25x etc on a game, we all know what that translates to dollar-wise as they have both been very forthright about their bets. But at least in LB's case, $2500 is only 5% give or take of his roll. It's easy to want to jump in and immediately bet large when the day before was a winning one for you, but sadly that's the way most people get schmucked. Which is exactly why I stated earlier that although I had an awesome gambling day today, I'm not going to go crazy tomorrow. I've learned my lesson too many times. Greed coupled with excitement and a misguided sense of my superior gambling abilities has fvkked me bigtime in the past. And let's not even start about the chasing I used to do when I was younger.
It may not seem as exciting to only be betting $10, $50, $100 or whatever when you 'see' others bet more and you 'feel' lucky, but in actual fact you rarely see the whole picture on here and luck doesn't go too far in gambling for very long. If you're here every day (which you basically are), you will have losing days. GUARANTEED. It's a fact of life - no one hits 100% of the time. That's why you need to make sure you have the money available to live another day.
I really hope you have a better day tomorrow, but please try not to jump in over your head. My rule of thumb is that if I'm still majorly pissed off about a game a couple of hours later, I know I bet outside my comfort zone and I need to rein it in immediately. Sorry if this sounded a bit preachy - just hate seeing people make the same mistakes I did when I first started this way back when. Best of luck hun!Last edited by shari91; 05-08-10, 07:59 AM.Comment -

#22391I like them and think that they will finally win a game 3...but that's more personal than professional. The Jazz need to play a perfect game to beat the Lakers. I don't think that's gonna happen this time, but I'm only going 1x on this and 2x on Orlando today.Comment -

#22392A little history on that LAL/UTAH game
I went back to check out how these current Lakers fared after going up 2-0 in a playoff series. These are the game 3's on the road for the Laker results after going up 2-0. These Lakers are 1-5 in game 3 when leading 2-0. Also don't forget that the Lakers are 1-2 on the road in the playoffs this year with their only win coming by 1 point on that crazy Gasol buzzer beater. Jazz are 3-0 at home this year in the playoffs.
4-23-2009 @ UTAH 88-86 LOSS
6-9-2009 @ ORL 108-104 LOSS
4-26-2008 @ DEN 102-84 WIN (Lakers swept them, this Den team was way worse than Utah is)
5-9-2009 @ UTAH 104-99 LOSS

#22395Ithink a very good pick of the day is Jazz 1st quarter -1.5, they are gonna come out strong in order to beat the lakers.... the jazz has been a great 2nd half team cutting double digits into close games near the end stretch of the game. Jerry sloan knows that in order to beat the lakers they have to play from the start as having a gd lead at least 8+ by half time, cuz the lakers are physical and big it takes to much energy and strength to play behind and win... As well Jazz are one of thje premiere home teams prob top 3 teams playing at home, i dont see them starting out sluggish with such a big fan base in utah..
Seconed pick Det vs San Jose Over in total goal scores, both team play high octane offense goals gonna be high, i think overtime Detroit win, i think ML on detroit is quite good, but game 6 sanjose will take itComment -

friend of mine asked the same question the other day when orlando was playing atlanta after blowing out atlanta in the previous game. "why hasn't line moved on that game..should be -12 or -14." thats what he couldn't understand. i told him everybody on the internet loved atlanta.
he loved orlando and they covered.

#22399Come on Paco, 23 points from Dragic in the 4th. That is uncappable and that game was not the norm. If people keep taking teams up 2-0 on the road for game 3 they will get buried in the long run especially against great home teams.Scared money don't make money
