By rights, New Orleans should be in the playoffs. Were it not for a string of injuries to West, Paul, Chandler and Jackson (Stojakovic's soft defense and one-dimensional selfish play doesn't fit in with this group at all), they would no doubt be there. On the other hand, the Clippers have had a very lackluster season. The team team's guard play is suspect, even when the overrated crafty but ego-tripping Sam Cassell is healthy; they've got no transition game to go with their boring half-court sets; and they've got character issues.
New Orleans is a hard-nosed bunch, led by Paul and the tremendously overlooked David West. Even in a must-win situation, in a tough defensive match-up with neither team having an explosive offense, the 10-point spread is very fat, making tonight's play: New Orleans +10.
