Sonics +6½ vs. Timberwolves

The Sonics look to redeem themselves after a 41-point home loss to San Antonio on Sunday, and they should do just that vs. a struggling Minnesota team that the beat last week.
The SuperSonics got bad news when they learned that star Ray Allen is out for the season, and they will certainly miss his scoring punch when they compete against the league's better teams.
His absence was felt Sunday night against the Spurs, when San Antonio blasted the Sonics 120-79, one of the worst home defeats in Seattle history. Now, they have to go out to Minnesota to take on the Timberwolves, who play with revenge on their minds from a loss suffered to the Sonics just four days ago. The knee-jerk reaction would be to take Minnesota here, but remember that the Wolves are not among the aforementioned better teams in the league.
Besides, NBA teams coming off of losses of 40 points or more are now a terrific 43-22 against the spread since 1990 when facing foes that are not off of back-to-back wins. Also, if our team off of that blowout loss defeated tonight’s foe in the most recent meeting of the current season, then this angle zooms to 24-7 ATS!
