Basketball Parlay of the Day - Tuesday, 2/27/07
Post your 2 best basketball plays each day, NBA and CBB full-game Sides & Totals allowed only, no halves. Same game Side/Total parlays are ok.

All parlays will be graded as 10.00 to win 26.00, and I will do the standings for the month of February at least.

The Catch: You must have SOME ANALYSIS for each play. Only needs to be one sentence, no big deal, although full paragraphs are ok too. Plays submitted with no analysis will NOT COUNT toward standings.

***Note: Records will be wiped clean when new March contest starts on Thursday!***

I hate to limp to the finish line, but I'm on the road with a crappy laptop and about 20 mins per day to think about the NBA.

So I may not get any more picks in Tuesday or Wednesday. But being "on the lead" doesn't mean much anyway when wins are worth 26 units.

SUNS/PACERS UNDER 216.5: This total is right on par with the average Phoenix road game this season, which is averaging 216.7 points per game. However, Indiana has played good defense at home for the most part, allowing 95.2 points per contest, and those games are averaging only 193.9 points combined. The last five head-to-head meetings between these clubs have averaged 198.2 points regardless of the venue, and while we think this final total will be a tad higher than that, we still think it will land safely below this posted number.

SAN DIEGO STATE -3.5: San Diego State is one of the most underrated teams in the country, as the Aztecs are 20-8 SU overall including a winning 7-6 SU away from home. They are also on a serious roll right now, going 7-1 both SU and ATS in the last eight games. Conversely Utah has been a disappointment this season, currently sitting at 10-17 SU and a very modest 8-6 at home, where the Utes have been virtually unbeatable in recent years. They are also 2-7 ATS in the last nine games including a current four-game ATS losing streak.

          Wisc Green Bay -7.5

Wisc Green Bay: 8-2 ATS off a loss

San Diego St. -3: After a disappointing start to the season, SDSU comes in red hot, having won 7 of 8 SU, including impressive home wins over Air Force, UNLV, and BYU. With their recent strong play, they now have a legitimate shot at an at-large bid. A loss here would almost certainly knock them out of contention for an at-large spot. Heath and Abukar are playing as well as they have all season, and they are facing a Utah team with nothing to play for. Good value with the Aztecs tonight.

Tennessee +4: Florida is still the most complete team in the country, but their recent struggles only add to the value in taking the Vols tonight. As expected, the public has been pounding the Gators in this one, pushing the line from 2-4. I think that is just too much for a Tennessee team that is very tough on their home court. The Vols have a great shot at winning this game outright.

Phoenix Suns -6: Suns have been very good on the road this year and should have no problem beating a mediocre Indiana team tonight. Phoenix is 4-0 SU and 3-1 ATS since the all star break and their good play should continue tonight.

Michigan +1: Michigan St. is coming off an impressive run of victories at home, but now they go on the road @ Michigan where their winning streak should end. Michigan St. won easily the last time these teams played, but Michigan should even the score tonight.

I won't try to coast through for a victory in this competition, but I don't have 2 plays that I like enough tonight. Neitzel's illness takes me off of the MSU game. Oklahoma State seems to be great value at home, laying 3, but when a team is in a downward spiral, you're better off staying away. Likewise, Florida's recent losses seem to signal a value-filled opportunity, but frankly, since Lofton returned, I think Tennessee at home on the ML is the value play.

If I had to play a daily parlay, it would have been SDSt -3.5 and Tenn +4, but I'm not playing it. I will make a play tomorrow.

San Diego State -3 San Diego is better than this and should cruise to an easy victory here even if they are on the road. This line should be more like -6 or -7 in my very humble opinion.

Montana State +8.5 Similar reasoning. Montana State is a pretty good team and even if they are travelling there's no way thery should be getting this many. I would have put the line somewhere around +2.

                  Good luck to everyone tonight!

Shams, not trying to be mean, but this thread is IF YOU HAVE A PARLAY THAT YOU ARE PLAYING! Not ones that look good, plus you need an analysis if I'm not mistaken... Come back tomorrow with a parlay and an analysis!

That was politely put.. Not sure what is ment by an analysis but I will give this parlay thing a shot tomorrow.. Maybe I will create a Thread Separate for Half Times.. I like those and in game quarters the best...

                          Thanks
