Basketball Parlay of the Day - Friday, 2/23/07
Post your 2 best basketball plays each day, NBA and CBB full-game Sides & Totals allowed only, no halves. Same game Side/Total parlays are ok.

All parlays will be graded as 10.00 to win 26.00, and I will do the standings for the month of February at least.

The Catch: You must have SOME ANALYSIS for each play. Only needs to be one sentence, no big deal, although full paragraphs are ok too. Plays submitted with no analysis will NOT COUNT toward standings.

I went 0-6 in this contest between Monday and Wednesday, and losing that Memphis/Golden State UNDER the way I did Wednesday prompted me to take yesterday off. I am now back and refreshed, so I bring you...

BUCKS/KNICKS UNDER 206.5: Do not look now but the Knicks have actually played some defense at home as of late, holding their last four opponents at Madison Square Garden below 100 points. The last three games in this arena have all gone UNDER, with none of those contests reaching 200 points combined. Granted Michael Redd is back for Milwaukee, but the newfound Knick defense will probably allow him to get his points while concentrating on stopping the rest of the Bucks.

LOS ANGELES LAKERS -8: Yes the Lakers have now lost an unheard of six consecutive games, but this seems like a perfect spot for the Lake Show to take out some frustration on an inferior opponent. The Celtics are 13-40 SU overall, and while they have played a bit better with Paul Pierce back in the lineup, the bottom line is that they have still won just one game, vs. the Milwaukee Bucks without Michael Redd, since January 5! The Lakers beat the Celtics by 13 points in Boston at the end of January, and we look for an even more authoritative win tonight as LA puts the breaks on its recent skid.

OK, so I was ecstatic about my prospects last night, then promptly watched Wright St. blow an 8 point halftime lead. Adding insult to injury would have to be USC not covering that 5.5. So, 0-2 on yesterday, and it's that time again. TIME TO FADE MYSELF on one play tonight.

Toronto-Indiana +198-ok, so this isn't the pick where I'm fading myself. Both teams can score points in bunches and I don;t really have much analysis here... I just see a 108-102 type of game.

Lakers -7.5- OK, so HERE's where I FADE MYSELF. I was dead set on Boston, simply because the Lakers looked too good on paper. Now, with the line moving in Boston's favor, just a little, it's clouded my judgment. My play was going to be Boston +8, but now I'm jumping on Lakers -7.5.

u207@CHI. Pure WTF game for me. Bulls are the superior team, at home, and they win by controlling tempo. Both teams are BxB. This line must be out of some deference to Arenas. Bulls have had one shootout at home, vs. TOR, when teams shot a combined .535.

u208 @ NY Agree with LT's analysis, and I'll take the couple of extra points now available. I hope David Lee is back. That was a key injury for them on Wednesday.

            Charlotte -3.5

Charlotte has won 3 straight ATS, tonight the Bobcats add to the 76er's misery.

            Washington +8

Gilbert Arenas scores 75 and the Wizards keep it close all night long.

The NBA's not my thing, if my analysis didn't clue you in already. Good luck everyone.

              Boston +8 against LA Lakers.
Washington Wizards +8 against Chicago Bulls
Both teams will score a lot of points tonight games. No defense. After 2 games, Arenas is averaging 40.5 points and shooting 52.2 percent (24-for-46). I think the Lakers and Bulls will win the game but won't cover the spread points. Lakers have lost 6 games in row, they need to win. Good luck you guys.

Toronto -4.5: Toronto lost badly at Indiana the last time they played, but they have been very good recently. They should also bounce back from losing against Cleveland the other night.

Lakers -8: Pierce may be back for Boston and that should give them some value for the rest of the season, but the Lakers need a win badly and should beat up on the Celtics tonight.
