It's suddenly surged, you can get the Lakeshow at +145 now, I guess people are ready to sell the Lakers now that they face a mountain of a challenge in Denver. Of course I'd rather have had this ticket much earlier, I was certain they'd beat the Grizzlies, not so certain about the Warriors, now I think they're too close to fail at this point. If they lose, it'll probably be to BOS in the chip.
Something about this Nuggets team feels a bit like a paper tiger... I know their starting five is great, but I'm not sold on guys like Bruce Brown, Christian Braun, and Jeff Green towing the line when faced with adversity. I don't know that a guy like Porter Jr. can be counted on in crunch time either, he's as streaky as it gets, and mostly a spot-up type shooter. When he gets a little tilted, he's prone to disappearing in games.
Murray is great, but the Lakers just went six games against one of the greatest shooters/playmakers of all time and they'll carry some of those concepts over. Jokic is the obvious difference, he can stretch the defense and make you pay for overplaying with his deft passing skills, but at least AD has the body and the quicks to offer some resistance at the rim.
The Lakers are still gelling with their personnel and the Nuggets are catching them at the wrong time. I think this could be a big series for Russell and Rui. Maybe Vandy stifles Murray to some degree with his length? Jokic will get his, but one man isn't going to be enough to punch their ticket, barring some kind of Herculean feat.
I trust Lebron's championship mettle, he's still got that dog in him that rubs off on his teammates... With the Nuggets? Who knows? This is their best opportunity but how will they react against a team that punches back? The Wolves and Suns weren't those teams.
