    Here's his current line:

8 points, 4-12 from the field, 0-3 from 3, 0-7 at the line.

OH FOR FVCKING SEVEN. Fvcking idiot is hitting 52% of his free throws this year. He's 30% from three, which is actually an improvement over his career 28% average.

    Too much weed today, Joshie.

Read this article. I thought it was from The Onion. Is ESPN serious with this bullshit?

Will Josh Smith fly the coop this summer? The Hawks forward explains what he wants in his career.

"The question was asked to me, 'Do I feel like I'm a max player?'" Smith continued. "And I gave him an honest answer. I said, 'Yes I do.' And the reason why I say this, is because if you don't know your worth, who will? I can't set my standards low. If you set them low, that's how people are going to view you. Like when you sell a house, you don't sell the house for $2 million. You put the $5 million sticker on there … and then you work it out. You negotiate."

    Wow.

Cant take a trick with this sport currently..
Take Spurs h2h heavy before lebron & wade pull out only to get crushed by a Bosh 3...
Now i take the Hawks h2h heavy in a letdown spot on a b2b for the Knicks & get crushed by an inept Josh Smith

It's just hilarious the opinion he has of himself.

What's even more amazing is that some team will be dumb enough to grant him his wishes and give that bum a monster contract.

He is everything that is wrong with the state of the NBA today. Surface stat guy with a me-first attitude who does nothing to help a team win.

the dude is actually a good player. but hes not a leader, franchise, superstar, etc etc.
no team will win anything worthwhile with him as their best player
if people value their cap space, they wont give him the max

How, exactly, is he a "good player"? Because his surface stats look pretty?

It takes about 5 minutes of watching an Atlanta game to realize he's far from a "good player" relative to what he thinks he is and the contract he thinks he deserves.

Like I said, I almost guarantee some team like the Pistons will be dumb enough to fall into the Josh Smith trap.

he needs to go somewhere and be the 2nd best player
he will thrive in the role
but like i said in some other thread about lebron and the heat
most people want to be paid first and complain about winning second

the first thing u did was post his stats for the night to trash him, so stats shud work both ways
hes a good player, his stats indicate that
hes also 6'9 , athletic, can defend, and ooooooccasionally hit a jumper

He can't make a jump shot. What good is he if he shoots 50% at the line, less than 30 from three and has a shitty attitude? That constitutes a "good player"?

Far be it for me to defend Dwight Howard, but this has to be one of the worst apples to oranges comparisons ever on this board. Their situations aren't even remotely comparable aside from their horrible attitudes.

u made a statement and i made a VERY accurate comparison
in fact both players play in the front court and are almost the same height

                              LOL -- what? Josh Smith is a 6-9, 225 wing. Howard is a 6-11, 270 center.

Josh Smith belongs on mediocre teams his entire career. If he goes to a big name team he better not be expected to be more than a #3 option.

He's better off padding his stats with no pressure and toiling away in obscurity, while feeding the media bullshit soundbytes about "only caring about winning."

u are missing the point. u named a couple negatives as to why josh is not a good player
i used howard because those negatives mirror his as well and howard is the best center in the nba
so u have a big hole in ur argument whether u want to accept it or not

i used howard because those negatives mirror his as well and howard is the best center in the nba
so u have a big hole in ur argument whether u want to accept it or not
What exactly is your point? Because Howard is a "franchise player," that means Smith is as well? I don't even understand what you're trying to say -- aside from the fact that you're comparing a 225-pound 3 to a 270-pound 5 just because they both have shitty attitudes (unless I've been missing Dwight Howard hanging out at the 3-point line and chucking bad shots lately, or Smith blocking a ton of shots on the low blocks).

the point is a player with those negative can STILL BE A GOOD PLAYER
example DWIGHT HOWARD HAS THE SAME NEGATIVES and he is THE BEST CENTER IN THE NBA

JOSH SMITH WITH THOSE NEGATVIES IS STILL A GOOD PLAYER
u want to disregard is since one is a center and the other is a SF be my guest
but here we go with more facts:

josh smith is top 10 of these categories vs other SF

                                              BLOCKS

                                              FG%
STEALS ( ok, he is 11th)

i guess those are the qualities of a bad player ??
i dont even wanna make this argument, i dont even like josh smith, but ur views are not accurate

He's just a nutcase....I don't blame him. There are many players in this league who know they have just enough talent to make good money in this business and don't need to work their ass off.

He does enough to get his money, and if teams wanna offer him more, he will gladly take it. Can't expect everyone in the league to have the passion and commitment that some of the top players do.

Knicks fan here and I swear every time I watch the Knicks play the Hawks, Josh Smith is the most useless player on the court. Not saying he doesn't do his thing other nights, but my god.
