yep it was played during the 2nd quarter (don't remember what time exactly) during play (i.e. not during a stoppage/timeout)

It depends what stadium and when. Record labels either pay to have their music played or give some sort of added value piece to the venue (i.e. concert tix to give away) in exchange for overhead play.
