I don't know the dynamics of the negociations, but why not just stick with Hornish Jr. He has been running well above expectation in that car soo far and killing it in Nationwide as well. Logano consistently underperforms compared to his teammates at Gibbs, there is a reason he wasn't renewed there.

hes 22 yrs old and has a MUCH higher ceiling than hornish does...my guess

Suggestion seems to be that Shell didn't want Sam in #22.

I was kinda hoping Ambrose might be a surprise mover to it.

hes already done more than hornish ever will though...and he will get better hes a kid still

One thing that may be tough on him next year is the Penske switch to ford and Penske not doing own engines as they have in past. Maybebroush and Penske will share info but can't see that

That is all he is. I consider this a demotion and proof that he was overrated coming into the series. How many guys perform soo much worse than their teammate? Logano isn't in the same class as Kyle or Denny. Gibbs did the right thing and shedded an overrated driver with little upside.

You guys are too tough on these guys. Logano has dominated in every other series he has ever run, he can be good in Cup too.

And Sam is 100% better than he was first time in a cup car. He used to wreck in at least half the races he started. He's been a reliable top 10 contender this time around.

Both of them were pushed ahead too fast is all.
