The real reason NASCAR slept is because no one dies anymore. They have upgraded the safety of the tracks and vehicles without increasing the horsepower and speed of cars resulting in too many restrictions making the races predictable and boring.

Correct. Also alot of people watched Nascar just to see Dale Jr. win, Jr. doesn't win anymore.

My point is the reason people don't die anymore is because the sport is too conservative hence boring. Let the horsepower unrestricted so people can pass instead of going aimlessly around in circles.

Too dangerous especially for the fans. Can't keep the cars on the track in bad wrecks. They end up in the grandstands.

Nascar has had a huge fan base for years, but I am curious to see if the fan base errodes over the next few years. The people who spend money on it for the most part are blue collar people. I wonder how many of these people/fans are having a hard time going to multiple races for each season. My friend is a huge fan and normally goes to 3-4 races each season...he said he would be lucky to go to two of them this year. Also, consider that this sport is driven by sponsorship and drivers' personality and/or "swager".

Talegdaga, Bristol, Pocono, and Daytona are the only races worth viewing...........and not near as good as years past.

By the way, just because PERHAPS more people are viewing the sport does not mean it is better.

The new point system absolutely stinks in my opinion.

Sport is going to fold in about 5 more years, Dale Jr as a nobody his whole career and nascar tried to promote him as being like his father. The top drivers now are boring mother fukkers too, they needed to fix races and let Dana win some. Also would not hurt to have some type drivers with drug problems, legal troubles, fighting issues, ect.

I can't believe you actually like Pocono. That is one of my favorite tracks on the schedule. I love it, but you rarely find others who do.

It's misunderstood. It's 3 completely different corners which require a driver to drive a car that literally cannot be hooked up in each turn. I think it showcases driver skill as much as any other track. People say there are too many cookie cutter tracks in Nascar, but then they complain about Pocono--the most unique track on the schedule.

The attempt at having spec cars has been a turn off for true race car fans. The rule book needs slimmed down tremendously. Define the chassis and set a criteria on the motors cub inch size, wheel specs and let the rest be in the hands of the team engineers. That would allow for more fun and less regulated spec cars. Spec cars meaning the powers want all cars equal as possible. Fail!

If sumbich has the title wrapped up after race 26 so be it.

Playoff is a joke because the top 12 remaining revert to being crybabies, screaming, "Don't touch me because I am in the chase". Very immature and leads to less racing by non chasers because they don't want to interfere with chase drivers. I'm calling BS.

Only thing Danica Patrick is going to save is a load of sperm from her lover hitting the ground.

I used to enjoy NASCAR when I was a kid. I was a big Waltrip fan. But growing up in Bristol, it has lost its allure altogether to me. Now all it means to me is for 2 weeks out of the year I have to deal with 40% of the population of Ohio invading my nice little town.
