Dont waste your money. He wont even be trying to lead a lap or get too involved in first playoff race for trucks. Even if he was able to first time on an oval.

Kyle Larson was in Iowa last night for the second night of qualifying for the Knoxville Nationals and will be starting on the pole for the main event Saturday night. He only finished in second in last nights feature but had enough points from qualifying and his heat to put him on the pole. Rico Abreu will be starting second and 11x Knoxville Nationals champion Donny Schatz will be starting third.

I remember when they used to point out Cali drivers as unusual too. Wasn't that many years ago!

All racing series in US seem to be on the rise, but NASCAR done really well when it seriously felt the hey day was over just 3 or 4 years ago.

if there's a caution during stage 1, Byron will probably be okay. But yeah, he needs luck now to get back into contention.

Last week Chastain said that they will try to adapt SvG's style and setup, unlike in Chicago, where they just let him do his thing. Will be interesting to see, how that works out.

Odds on him don't really look interesting anyway, though, and with usually no tyre deg, this is also not really a race which plays into Suarez' hands.

Van Gisbergen for Pole probably a reasonable bet.

But do think he will trying real hard to win again.

Now we know he wants a full time Cup ride next year, he really needs to prove he is extraordinary on road courses to justify sponsoring him on the ovals.

wouldn't discount SvG for sure (nor Kobayashi), but I'd think it's still a bit of a different story than in Chicago, and the regular drivers should have more of an advantage due to their experience.

But sure, a Pole would be no surprise, especially if it turns out to be wet indeed today.

Kostecki is a dark horse too actually.

He is leading the Supercars championship and has been beating SVG most of this year. He also started out trying to get into NASCAR years ago so has ARCA experience there.
