Alright guys were heading off to the all-star races this weekend in charlotte....fun weekend, with the hpwdown (whatever its called) and the main all-star event both being held on sat evening and night...even though this is not a usual week or race, its still pays the same and is very fun so i always still make a thread for these races..

**we will also have a TRUCK series race from charlotte on this friday night the 17th

both races are of course run at Charlotte, a 1.5 mile cookie cutter racetrack

GOODLUCK this week everybody and lets get a big payday going into the coke 600 next week!!!!

I'm still burning about it too. Went against Kyle Friday and for him Saturday just to make it burn even worse.

I think you are way too kind to him saying it was just a puncture that beat us though.

Driving away from the field at volume setting 10 on every restart near the end is not necessary and a really stupid risk to take when you have been leading in the dominant car all night. Why use up all your tires at the max rate all the time?

Don't know if his driving contributed to the tire problem last week, or maybe put him a position he should not have been in if he had saved some tires... but I do know he does the same thing over and over and over again in all series... and I see him lose race after race after race directly because of this strategic stupidity he sticks to imho.

We all know he should already have a championship. I think this is the entire reason he hasn't got one, or two.

A whole new format this year after Jimmie Johnsons win last year.

"Qualifying on Friday night will be three laps with a mandatory four-tire pit stop at any time during the run. Unlike a traditional Cup race, there will be no pit road speed limit. And because there was no pit crew competition this year, qualifying will determine the order of pit selection for Saturday night;

-- Caution laps will count in the first four 20-lap segments, but only green-flag laps will count in the 10-lap shootout. Cars will run five caution laps after the first three 20-lap segments, and drivers who choose to pit may lose track position. All drivers must pit for four tires after the fourth 20-lap segment that precedes the 10-lap shootout;

-- The order of finish of the fourth segment will break any ties when establishing the lineup for drivers to enter pit road for their mandatory pit stop before the final segment;

-- The preliminary Sprint Showdown for drivers not in the All-Star race will feature two 20-lap segments, and drivers may pit or stay out between segments. All 40 laps will count, and qualifying will be the traditional better of two laps;

-- The Sprint Showdown winner and runner-up will transfer to the All-Star race if their cars are deemed “raceable.” And the driver voted into the All-Star race must have finished on the lead lap in the Showdown and likewise have a “raceable” car.
