Adelaide did ok against Perth in the preseason game but last season perth won all three encounters easily by 12, 21 and 30, two of the three played in adelaide.
Perth have made a few changes from last season but the core of the team is pretty much unchanged. Whereas Adelaide have a pretty different look to them with two new imports. While it was close with Adelaide in the preseason comp perth smashed melbourne by 16 and cairns by 20.
Betting perth will bring the pressure and Adelaide won't be able to deal with it.

Adelaide's squad really isn't that bad and if Knight isn't 100% then I really fancy the 36ers chances of an upset here. I will take the points for a unit as I can see a closer game than people think.

Not a bad start. Perth were hideous on offence for all but about 3 minutes and still weren't far away. Lot of it was hideous shooting some of it i though was decent defence by adelaide who looked pretty well drilled and in good spirits. Bit suprised most of the bookmakers still have adelaide as the long shots to win it.Comment -

NZ home games averaged 179 last season by my records, not adjusting for overtime. Sure they are without Penney but they still have a fair few scorers. Abercrombie is much improved and I think will be one of the best players in the league this season, 13 points, 11R, 2S and 1B in game 1. Vukona is also better offensively, plus they have Bruton, Braswell and Wilkinson.
Perth were terrible offensively against Adelaide struggling to hit the ring.

Hard to see these players not improving and scoring some more points. That said they look a bit short on offensive firepower this season with alot depending on Redhage and Lisch.
Think NZ are being underated due to Penney being out. If he comes back I think they should be favourite to win it. I had a couple of units on them to win it before the season started and he went to the NBA tryouts at $7.50. About a day later he got the tryout with San Antonio and I was cursing, but looking at it even without him i don't mind that price.Comment -
