Hawthorne Race 5
#12 Iquique(9/2): Moving over from his first start at Delaware to Hawthorne and draws the outside post. In his first start he was squeezed and settled in 2nd to last. He made a slight middle move to fast fractions and before the turn he was being used hard and fell back which is of some concern. However, after the turn he came alive only to be stuffed in heavy traffic and had to hold him back hard. He swerved across the track and came on strong again. With clear sailing he would have won. At 9/2 ML in this race he is actually tied as the 2nd fave so this is a wide open race that could possibly see a decent price. I will be playing.

they haven't announced his stud fee yet but I'm guessing 150k..that would be about 15M a year to his connections
..the saudi royal family is worth about $20 billion from what I've read so they don't need purse money from the pegasus world cup or dubai world cup which probably adds up to about $15M also..and as you said the risk of injury is always there..can understand the decision

Will Rogers Race 7
#8 Coronas Can Man(6/1 ML): This one made me laugh as I did not notice it was a quarter horse race which I rarely bet and must have been bored. This horse was 12/1 in his last race(which was his first). HE got stuck in the gate, swerved to the right, ran into the back of another horse than veered way over out of control, then went left about 5 lanes over and got 4th. Yes these are crazy races where a split second mistake makes all the difference but I figure wth I will put $20 for fun on him.

#4 Brenda J(2/1 ML): Only going to play if I get 1/1 or better. Last race I wanted to cry because I had this horse in a larger exact over the #6 who was a first starter and of course the #6 won. Brenda J got squeezed badly and instead of at or near the lead she was way way back in a short sprint but came on nicely to close to 2nd. IF she gets a decent start she should crush these but no way I play at 3/5 like she was last week.

Coronas Can man: 5th 3 lengths back. If only they could keep him straight.

Brenda J: wins the race and is disqualified AGAIN. Fool me once however, the #8 in the race was a first starter bet down to the 2nd fave so I thought to myself ok I am not falling for this again and took the 8-4-7-3 super and it came in a few times over which was $121 on a $1 bet. I had just a $10 backup of a 4-8 but was actually hoping they would take Brenda J down which they did. This horse has the worse luck and it pretty good considering she is winless.
