Race 1
The 2 morning line favorites appear fastest on dirt in here but are at least a combined 0 for 11 at this OC14k level.Like 3-Ocala Jim 6-1 a lot here especially at the ML.His 2 dirt races were sprints where he did his best running too late and could run best race of career at the 9 furlong distance.Is competitive off turf form but has been progressing just about every race he has run so any improvement gives him a great shot.

The 2 favorites here also are a little suspicious for the same reason.The fave Schoolyard Dreams is a shell of himself since 3 years ago when competitive in the Wood enough to earn a chance in the Preakness.Now comes in here for L Rice after being claimed 2 starts back from Jacobson.Not a good angle.When horses get claimed from D Jacobson they usually go bad fast so I think it's likely he goes backward off last start and probably why L Rice drops him almost 50% in price.As for the 2nd choice Barbara entry 1 and 1A he brings both 1st off the claim from Asmussen.While horses don't fall apart from him like Jacobson , Barbara is pretty bad off the claim even if he has gotten off to a hot start at Aqueduct.Finally getting to my horse 2-Upward 10-1 goes turf to dirt and draws the rail.Coming out of a 5 1/2 turf sprint should get a good tracking position behind the long layoff 3rd choice 8-Rift who I see as the main danger.Parx jock Arroyo and Perillo have been on fire at AQU including a nice priced winner to conclude the Saturday card.

Disclaimer:It's not smart to try and beat 2 Pletchers, A Chad Brown, and a Jacobson 1st off the claim.Especially the Jacobson claim, lately he and R Rodriguez have been unstoppable so won't argue with anyone who wants to use his horse at the 6-1 ML.However I'm swinging for the fence with 2-Stephen A 20-1.One of the few things N Zito still does very well is sprint to route and/or 1st route.Kind of ran around the track behind a slow pace last out and all 3 of his starts indicate he should improve substantially stretching out.Of the others The Truth About K G and D Jac claim Prudent Investor would be the ones to use in EX.This meet is an afterthought to most of the top barns so if their horses show up in an everyday race I think it says something that they aren't in Florida for the GP winter meet.
W/P or W/P/S on 2-Stephen A or 1,2,5 ex bx
Race 4
Very tough race if it stays on turf and even tougher if changed to main track.The 9-5 fave looks very strong on figures and probably wires the field if switched to the main.G Gullo for some reason is a 10x better trainer on dirt so can play against at likely very short price on turf.As mentioned earlier Rudy Rod is back in form at close to 45% so far this meet and he has 8-Gridiron Great 9-2 going sprint to route with pace figs that say he will like it.Hard to toss the 5-2 2nd choice 9-Mcilroy making 2nd start from long layoff and 2nd start in C Brown's barn.Looks like he just wants to get rid of him but this will be by far the easiest race of career.The sneaky long shot is 2-National Buck 12-1 who just missed at this level 2 back after giving up the lead in the stretch.
8-Gridiron Great to win or w/p or 2,8,9 ex bx
Race 5
Hard to separate the two Galluscio horses 2-Typhoon Teri 8-1 and 3-Quiet Sunshine 5-1.The 2 isn't really bred to route but if it wasn't all the moisture in the track last race, she should like her first route attempt.The 3 won at this level in February before going up in class and then switching barns a couple times.Don't like the favorite but the 2nd and 3rd choices on the ML look like the obvious alternatives.
2,3,5,8 ex bx if the price is right or I have to decide between the 2 or 3 to w/p
Race 6
I guess the Jacobson is going to be hard to beat especially dropping in class off a win but no way is she 7-5 or less good.I'd be inclined to take a shot at a big price with 3-Casual Elegance 20-1 who gets blinkers and has races that can win here.Like her a little more on dirt.Seems very unlikely to keep the fave out of exacta but stranger things have happened and if going that way 1-My Bella Beauty 6-1 and 9-Ideal Place are pretty obvious to make a 1,3,9 box.

3-It's Easy might be an easy winner first out for Pletcher but I think he does far worse with statebred firsters.Still not bad but not the 30% + he does is open company.Don't like any of the horses that have run so there could be a lot of value using the other first timers whose trainers are all more than capable in 4-See Me Sometime 12-1 for Clement, 7-Keep Right 12-1 for Kimmel, 8-Truericepudding 10-1 for Violette, and 9-Goldstandardlady 10-1 for J Englehart.If betting/picking one to win in order of preference

Don't think I can go against the two C Brown's.Both 1A-Request 2-1 and 6-Innovation Economy 3-1 are from the last crop of my favorite sire Dynaformer and 2-1 may be an overlay on 1A-Request.Just going to be a fan and hopefully watch Request have a long graded stake win filled career.I guess 7-Frogman Mel 20-1 would be the one to try and get in the exotics, as noted R Rodriguez is working magic .This 2 year old he claimed off Pletcher and improved him.You don't see that every day.

Saturday looks like some pretty awesome cards at all the major tracks.Churchill has their all 2 year old card which I think is called stars of tomorrow .Very difficult but should be a number of big jump ups resulting in big payouts.Morning lines aren't out yet but looking at Streethomealabama in the Golden Rod and Awesome Sky in the Kentucky Jockey Club as well as a bunch of others throughout the card.Aqueduct has the best card imo especially if they are able to somehow keep the races on the turf.Pletcher has a strong hand in the stakes but I like his "other" horse in most of them(Got Lucky,Galloping Giraffe,Capo Bastone).Beating K Mclaughlin will be my theme but as far as I'm concerned he is the best trainer there is so it may turn ugly.Get to see Kentucky Derby front runner Honor Code in action too.Also Fairgrounds is in full swing and Gulfstream opens their winter meet with an all turf 2 stake late pick 4.
