use caution with muchomachoman has no room to improve he has more starts than many & stamina doubtful in bloodlines, i think he's a cut below the these & guessing they will skip the belmont, just my thoughts & i'm wrong many times a day good luck though

Nothing set yet. I did see that the biggest field they can put in is 16 horses, which to me is an insanely huge Belmont field. I'd prefer 12 at the most.

Mike Lauffer and Bill Cubbedge’s Preakness Stakes winner Shackleford is expected to ship to New York in the next couple of days and will have a workout over the Belmont track before a final decision is made about running in the June 11 Belmont Stakes, according to the Churchill Downs communications department.
The 3-year-old son of Forestry returned to the Churchill Downs backstretch the morning of May 22, one day after his triumph in the May 21 Preakness.
Trainer Dale Romans said he will train Shackleford as if he is going to start in the Belmont.

I am STILL leaning towards Mucho Macho Man.....
Mostly, because I can relate with what his trainer has endured.
Besides MMM justed turned three years old.......When he raced in KD and Preakness he was still a two year old.... even tho the calendar said differently.
BUT ...first we have to get him into the Belmont Stakes.
Everybody is "training" but not saying 100 percent they will be there....
On another note.....16 entries has been the norm for listing starters in a race at Belmont this year, BUT 99 percent of the time, they scratch 2 to 4 entries before post time.

The Met Mile is on Monday post time 5:50pm...Haynesfield, Aikenite, Tackleberry, and Tizway look like the best horses out of the field of 11. Tizway ran in this race last year and finished 3rd behind muskett man and 1-4 fav quality road. Haynesfield and Aikenite are the two favs, tackleberry is 6-1 and Tizway 5-1

Not aikenite. That horse only wins at 7f.
And be nice, jeez. Some people pick based on names. That's an even dumber reason

Years ago, (in 1978), I liked Alydar over Affirmed. Affirmed was a very nice looking, powerful race horse. Alydar pushed Affirmed across the finish line in the Kentucky Derby, The Preakness Stakes, and The Belmont Stakes, and The Travers,,,,,,,,however, in the Travers, the Stewarts ruled Alydar was interferred with by Affirmed, and Affirmed was DQ'd.
Alydar, might not of been able to finish ahead of Affirmed when competing head to head, but Alydar had heart and determination and he passed that quality on to his offspring.
I have the same thinking with Mucho Macho Man that I had with Alydar.
If Mucho Macho Man enters and does not win the Belmont Stakes, it is not going to be a big deal...just to see him race with heart and determination and come out of the race healthy is what I am looking towards. True he does not have it all figured out yet, but he just turned 3 yrs old this next Month (June)
Lately, the horses that compete in these early 3 year old Stakes races have nothing left in the FALL campaign..but I think Mucho Macho Man will be campaigning this Fall.
I'm thinking your MMM is a little overrated. These horses all have been killing me. Any more news on field, etc? I've been Internet-less since wednesday.

I was a MMM believer until the disappointing performance in the Preakness. Not to say that he can't bounce back off that showing, but there are clearly some better horses in this field that appeal to me more.
& Yes, some info on the field:
Alternation winner of the Peter Pan Stakes is officially out of the Belmont picture and will target races this fall (Travers, etc.)
Baffert will not be sending any horses to the Belmont. This means Awesome Patriot and Uncle Sam are out.
Shack shipped to NY on Saturday for some early training.
Nehro put in a great work Saturday at Churchill. Connections say he will ship to NY on Thursday so he can get one work in before the race.
The field now looks like this (and hopefully it stays at 12 or less):
Belmont Stakes probable starters: HorseTrainerLast start
Animal Kingdom Graham Motion 2nd - Preakness
Brilliant Speed Tom Albertrani 7th - Ky. Derby
Isn’t He Perfect Doodnauth Shivmangal 9th - Preakness
Master of Hounds Aidan O'Brien 5th - Ky. Derby
Monzon Ignacio Correas IV 6th - Peter Pan

Shackleford Dale Romans 1st - Preakness
Stay Thirsty Todd Pletcher 12th - Ky. Derby
Possibles: Harlan’s Hello Doodnauth Shivmangal 1st - Op. claiming

Belmont field down to 11 probables. Prime Cut and Wilkinson will look to other races. Prime Cut will remain at Churchill to possibly run in Matt Winn stakes, June 18th. Top 7 derby finishers are pointed towards Belmont, 1st time in 143 year history that has happened (if all indeed race).
New jockey and new shoes for MMM doesn't spark much interest in me. At this point it is all about the horse. If Ramon and new shoes can make this horse win the Belmont than I stand corrected, but I would be extremely shocked to see him beat some of the horses in this current field.

Mike Watchmaker's early odds for Belmont:
Interesting. My guess is these will change drastically towards race day and MOH and MMM will get a much higher price. People will bet down the two TC winners to no tomorrow, so Nehro may get a decent price as well.
Animal Kingdom 2-1
Nehro 7-2
Shackleford 9-2
Master of Hounds 8-1
Mucho Macho Man 8-1
Santiva 12-1
Brilliant Speed 15-1

Take it for what its worth, but Mucho Macho Man put in a blazing work at Belmont. 1st out of 15 for the distance. Maybe the new kicks helped out after all.
