    Gulfstream Stakes Sunday---Race 8 and 9
    Race 8----The Fort Lauderdale Stakes---Grade III---1 1/16 miles turf---Colts

The favorites 1-Battle Of Hastings(4-1) and 2-Get Stormy(3-1) look really tough. The only other horse I would play to maybe beat them 8-Souper Spectacular(6-1) is 6-1 but everyone knows by now that he is a 1/2 brother to Zenyatta so he will come down from 6-1.

I guess if for some reason others take money and I can get the 3 morning lines I'll do a 1,2,8 EX Box.If not I will put them in a daily Double with race 9 or a Pick 3 with the firsters from race 7 along with race 9.

    Race 9---The Marshua's River Stakes----Grade III--- 1 1/16 miles turf---Fillies/Mares

This looks like a really good race to make a nice score.

    Contenders
The 12-C.S. Silk(5-1) is the fastest horse in the race but is marooned in post 12.The more scratches there are that move her toward the inside the more I think she will win but I think the morning line is wrong and she may be the favorite at 5/2ish.She is the most likely winner but I will be hoping either the 1-Mary's Follies(8-1) or 3-Cherokee Queen(10-1) beat her.Mary's Follies was stuck in post 11 last race giving her no choice but to tap the breaks from the gate in order to no be hung 6 wide into the 1st turn. This hindered her as she likes to be around 2 lengths of the pace.Cherokee Queen was steadied on the far turn and then 7 wide but still made a run last race.

    2nd Place Contenders
I am tossing the favorite 11-Kiss Mine from the top spot. She has made a living in the ungraded stakes and one of my favorite angles is when a horse has done extremely well there moves up to the Graded stakes .Also the 2-Never Retreat and 5-Trip For AJ will take money at the windows but have been beating the same ungraded stakes company as the favorite.I guess out of the 3 I like the 2-Never Retreat the best.

    My bet
    Exacta
    1-Mary's Follies
    w/3,12,2

    and
    3-Cherokee Queen
    w/1,12,2

If the price is right I may play a saver
    12-C.S Silk
    w/1,2,3

Also finishing off DD and Pick 3 with the top 3

per equibase the turf rail is out 36ft for the 3rd & 8th, out 96ft 9th race guessing that can't help, think she goes to the front or lays back? also post your thoughts on race #7 & #10? i try small 50cent pk 4's

    thanks & good luck

What is the significance of the rail in turf races? Always thought if it was closer, it favored speed, is that true?

Race 7 none of the horses that already ran have come close to par for the race so I am weighing heavily on the first time starters.Mostly the 8-Estrella Vega and 7-Caramore.

The 10th looks really tough to have a strong lean towards a winner.I can easily see any one of the 2-Praetereo,5-Dizfraz,6-Foolish Tiger,or 11-Stormy The Cat winning. However if one of the Also Eligibles draws in 13-Walkers Landing or 16-Casino Host I would weigh heavily on one of them.

Some courses it matters more than others. The less room there is the more it favors front runners.

I am focusing mostly on the 9th race vertically and the 8th/9th double.

I have been waiting for a Pick 5 to play but every card so far has been crazy hard.Thats the best wager in the country right now and soon enough I'll start taking shots at it.

gp floating temp rail is used to protect chewed up turf course, should favor speed much, though mikecas #12 horse already hindered by bad post, don't know if he can clear

I like Blues Street (#5) to rebound in the 8th with Battle of Hastings (#1) challenging for the win.

Ugh I didn't watch any of the races because I was busy having my heart ripped out by the eagles at the Linc but looking at the charts I guess one of my top horses finished 4th and Never Retreat finished 3rd.If you figured out that race WOW.$1,000+ Exacta,10k+ TRI,and 97k+ Super
I guess I gotta stop tossing slow /long layoff horses if I want a piece of that pie.
