Eclipse Awards finalists

Led by Horse of the Year finalists BLAME, GOLDIKOVA (Ire) (Anabaa) and ZENYATTA, the National Thoroughbred Racing Association (NTRA), Daily Racing Form, and the National Turf Writers and Broadcasters (NTWB) on Thursday announced the finalists for the 2010 Eclipse Awards, which recognize excellence in Thoroughbred racing.

Blame, winner of the 2010 Breeders' Cup Classic (G1); Goldikova, the French mare who made history when capturing a third straight running of the Breeders' Cup Mile (G1); and Zenyatta, the Breeders' Cup Classic runner-up, are the three finalists for the coveted Horse of the Year title.

Winners in all 17 horse and human categories will be announced at the 40th annual Eclipse Awards dinner ceremony, which will take place January 17 at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach in Miami Beach, Florida

i think it's a little ridiculous that Chamberlain Bridge isnt a finalist for Male Turf Horse of the year, i know the writers will say, well he runs at sprint distances, but what does that matter, he runs on the turf, runs against pretty much the best turf sprinters in almost every race he runs in since there are fewer turf sprints around the country than distance races.. Just think he deserves a little more respect than he gets...
