One of the worst cards I have seen. (I haven't seen the scratches)
In race one there seem to be a lot of jockeys switching around. In my opinion there should be no favorites in this race. Flying Sappho is ML 2-1, give me a break!!!! 26-1 on the grass and is made a 2-1 ML favorite????? I really like Rudy Rodriguez as a trainer, but sorry not at 2-1 This is a 7 year old horse with 1 win and is also 4-0-3-0 at the SPA
I'll take a shot here with what I think is the value in this race. #6 Angel Wave is a lightly raced 4 year old that is 4-1-1-1 on the grass. Took her 13 times to break her maiden but she isn't facing much here.Espinoza chooses to stay with her here is a good sign. Espinoza has ridden Pea Stone numerous times and sticks with Angel Wave.
Race #1
#6 Angel Wave $20 W/P
$20 DD #6 Angel Wave / #9 Zone Breaker
Race #2 is another race you can't get excited about. Mostly cheap maiden claimers, with a few exceptions. I think the outside post is like 3 winners out of 25 races. #7 One Note Samba is going to be tough to beat, but I can't bet a favorite in races like this. #9 Zone Breaker won on first asking, Zone Breaker and One Note Samba both raced on the same day 7/3/10 and both won. In the Zone Breaker race Golden Gate the 3rd place finisher came back next time out to win easy. I think the outside post is is a tough place to be but can be overcome. Zone Breaker can improve over that maiden win and JJ Castellano stays with with the colt.
Race #2
#9 Zone Breaker $40 W/P
Race #3 Now here is a race to get excited about!!!! It's a $25000 maiden claimer @ 1-3/8 with a couple of 4 and 6 year old maidens
Christophe Clement and Garret Gomez a tough combo to go against. Albany Road had what looks like a prep race at Monmouth Park, a 5th place finish and was steadied. Like I said before, this is not a race where the favorite is worth putting down your hard earned money. I'm going to take a shot here with what should be a bomb. Blue Horseshoe is bread for the grass, also should be able to run all day. Others in this race have had to way to many chances to get out of the maiden ranks. Blue Horseshoe lightly raced and capable at the distance and surface.
Race #3
#4 Blue Horseshoe $20 W/P
Race #4. Here is another race where a horse has to win........hahahahahaha. None really deserving. Not much to go by here. I told my dog to speak, she barked 6 times. I guess it's the #6. Finger Lakes invader brings Jock along with her.
Race #4
#6 She's an Outlaw $20 W/P
Race #5 It's getting better? NY Stallion $100,000. Parkinson Field run style should win this race, but he is one of those $16000 maiden claimers from the previous races. I'm going to stick with class on the grass. The Tagg /Dominguez team looks really hard to beat here Barclay Tagg was at least smart enough to dump that bum Corny Velasquez (worst rider ever)
Race #5
#10 Seattle Mission $20 Win
$20 EX #10 Seattle Mission / #3 Lubash
Race #6 Wesley Ward is pulling out all the tricks here
Race #6
#4 Mission Mike Clark $50 Win
Race #7 Just another great race, mega dollar claiming race.
Asmussen reaching into his bag of tricks? this horse has faced much better. Horse breaks his maiden here puts out 2 more good races in 08 then totally falls apart. Worth a shot to me.
Race #7
#1 Trinity Magic $50 W/P
Race #8 Interesting race, who will have the lead? Seems to me, any horse that gets the lead will win. Horses in this race seem to need a pace to run at. If a horse goes out and doesn't set honest fractions there will be no pace to run at. With that said.
Race #8
#3 Seniors Pride $50 W/P
Race #9 Just another great race to put a close on a terrible racing card. Phil Serpe knows the grass and with the connections here Flying Zee they have put some nice payoffs out in past meets. Serpe likes Lezcano and gives him his gold nuggets.
Race #9
# 4 Nurse Dolce $50 W/P
