    Down Under Racing
I will be posting all my bets here for Aussie racing for the next 4 to 5 months (how long depends how it goes I guess!) to keep a formal "public" record of my new methods.

The bets will be posted by approx 11.45am EST (that is EST in Aus of course).
All race times are also EST

My current strike rate is over 25% (of total races bet that is as sometimes have more than 1 in a race) with a decent ROI

I will track using 1 unit bets per selection. The odds used will be official IASBET.COM Super Price Win/Place odds

I will also post Hong Kong bets and they will be included in overall record.

Like all betting methods there will be losing streaks but here's hoping the overall picture is

    Today : 6 May - Gosford R2 - 14 Ausbred Royal @ 12.38pm

Definitely different to USA racing. The only time I was in the States I went to Hollywood Park and met this great old couple who told me all Aussies know nothing about their own racing because when they visited Aus they saw we get so many big priced winners

Their theory was if we knew how to cap properly the winners would end up much shorter. First I laughed now I often wonder if they were right

Thanks jw. If you do follow make sure you have a bank. There are millions of cash mgnt theories and each to their own to suit personalities. My longest run of outs this year has been 18 so draw downs are to be expected. I use a bank of 100 units.

                  Record 0-1 -1 unit

I have had some success in Australian racing using speed ratings in the non-maiden races .. unfortunately the only decent speed ratings I could find were quite expensive - so I could not really justify the spend each day while i fine tuned the selection method. Do you know of any sites that provide basic speed ratings for free or for a reasonable price?

i see you have Bendigo racing today (and Wagga which is a track I have never looked at).

For Bendigo I have a method which since 1 Jan 2009 has had 103 bets for 35 wins (SR of approx 34%). The ROI is approx 24% of this period. The longest run of outs has been 10. The last 5 bets have all run 2nd or 3rd so currently at 5 outs.

Can be bet aggressively for place only (2nd or 3rd in fields of 8 or more - not sure what you can get over there). Level stakes place betting has returned a profit approx 9% ROI over the same number of bets at a strike rate of approx 63%.

These aren't going to be included in my plays but bearing the above in mind here are the picks using this method :

                            Race 1 - 1 Bel Shandy 12.21 pm
                            Race 2 - 13 Super Swell 12.57pm
                            Race 3 - 1 Anudjawun 1.32pm
                            Race 4 - 7 Unbendable 1.55pm
                            Race 7 - 2 Mr Testa 3.55pm

Good day if you followed these over your way - or even here for that matter

I had a half unit on each. They weren't my recorded bets as I haven't finalised some of my approaches yet but will take the profit nonetheless.

One unit each bet for the win = +12.03 Units

Sorry I don't. Good speed rating services for our racing are few. The best I ever saw was a guy who modified an American program but he doesn't sell the ratings.

There are three classes of tracks in Australia:

M = Metro tracks (i.e. Belmont, Santa Anita, Churchill)
P = Provential (i.e. Fairgrounds, Oaklawn, Philadelphia, Golden Gate/Bay Meadows)
C - Country (i.e. Evangeline, Finger Lakes, Penn National, Turfway, Hoosier)

It helps when evaluating past performances.....

Ur right but the revamped race class figures which have been around for a while help bring it all together. All my methods include race class evaluation.

My two favorite races in the world are the 6 1/2 furlong race at Santa Anita down the hill, and the 6 furlong straightaway at Flemington.

So far 2 winners, a couple of 2nds and a 4th. Informality in Sydney was heavily backed so hope you got on at decent odds. I got over $4.40 for it but it only paid $2.92 at IASBET city super price.

                                              Hong Kong picks :

                                              R3 -1 Fresh Air
                                              R4 - 11 Metro Rider
                                              R6 -5 Central Role
                                              R7 -12 Invinciblekindness
                                              R9 - 13 Mr Topaz
                                              R10 - 6 Bouncer

Honk Kong races are awesome and while my strike rate their isn't always the greatest the end result is still a great ROI. Lot's of value and not uncommon to get $30+ winners which more than cover the outs.

Not able to get on @ Hong Kong or the other Australian tracks .. just have the US feeds available to me for the next week or so. Looks like I'll be able to play via Betfair soon though - that should open up a few extra tracks to me.
