    4th (2:36)

    7 Furlongs | Open | 3 Year Olds And Up Allowance | Purse: $67,000

Prg. # PP Horse Jockey Trainer Wt. Claim $ Equip. Med. ML
    1 4 Shone Luzzi M J Zito Nicholas P 120 L 5-1 (Possibly 2-5)

Very erratic 4yo. Also very fast at times. At times as fast as Greater Fool but too fricken erratic. XOXOXO pattern in every race this year. Forward/backward/ Forward/backward/ Forward/backward. 9th race and this one has him going backward. Thing is his last race (5) wasn’t incredibly fast for him. 50 % chance he runs well. Which would put him right there.

    1A 7 Advanced Signs Leparoux J R Zito Nicholas P 118 L 5-1

Fairly consistent horse that is a tad slower than most here. Is ready for a jump forward and Leparoux/Zito 23% clip.

    2 1 Elusive Value Desormeaux K J McLaughlin Kiaran P 118 L 6-1 (6-7)

Second race as 3yo. Should jump forward well as 2 of his 3 races last year were faster than his 3yo debut. 2nd race off layoff 20%. Could be sleeper. Desormeaux/McLaughlin 23% win clip.

    3 2 Steve's Double Velasquez C Werner Ronny 118 L 10-1 (4-6)

6th race as 3yo. Did not race as a 2yo. 2 races back huge effort which if he duplicates today could get him a w. In each of his first 4 races he moved forward. It’s been over 2 months since that big effort at CD. Live at 10-1

    4 3 Greater Fool Gomez G K Violette, Jr. R A 120 L 7-2 (2-3)

Very fast 4yo. Did not race at all as a 3yo A little inconsistent but given past numbers very well could win if he’s on his game.

    5 5 Mr. Rowdy Velazquez J R Asmussen Steven M 118 L 8-1 (5)

His 5th race as a 3yo and his first 2 were faster than his last 2. Could be poised for a jump forward but that jump would have to be pretty big. Velazquez/Asmussen 26% clip.

    6 6 Laser Samyn J L Jolley Leroy 118 Blk-On L 30-1 (7)

Ran its fastest race as a 2yo. To slow to compete from what I see.m Blinkers on but Trainer 0% in that category.

    7 8 Marital Asset Bejarano R Hennig Mark 120 L 12-1 (5)

Extremely consistent 4yo. Could be competitive here at a decent price.

    8 9 Bb Livermore Coa E M Tagg Barclay 120 L 6-1 (5)

Identical numbers as Marital Asset and most here. Could be poised for a jump forward and right jock is up. Coa landed me the 34-1 shot yesterday and hits 18% with trainer.
Thing is it’s ½ the odds of Marital Asset

    9 10 Temecula Creek Prado E S Frankel Robert 118 L 3-1 (4-6)

Lightly raced 3yo. 1 race as a 2yo and very well could move forward at this point. Numbers prettymuch like everyone elses.

Race is too fricken wide open with only 1 throwouut in Laser. I couldn’t pick the winner out of the rest so I’ll watch the tote and take a shot.

I threw Xchanger in my exacta. He either runs very well or is way back. I think the class drop will help off off the Monmouth effort, which wasn't as bad as it looked. He was right there until the far turn against Curlin and Any Given Saturday.

Garrett Gomez rolls from 20 lengths behind to win the Hopeful. Now I need one more winner from GG in the 10th for the late double.

                  4-Timber Reserve $13.40$8.60$7.20
                  7-Xchanger $19.80$11.60
                  8-Zanjero $3.60

This triple paid $2,000. We had 2 of the 3 and it wasn't a stretch to throw the 4 in there. Missed chance. Wish I had Xchanger for place and show. Zanjero didn't get a great trip and finishes 3rd as usual.

Actually turned out to be a great race to bet. Never would have thought that with just 4 horses. Had Majestic large to win and boxed with the 4. Paid $31 and $13 the other way just in case. Maimonides was over bet in its first outing which had me believing it ran hard in that race. Ready'i Image 2 huge numbers it's last 2 was set for a bounce. Majestic was Off poorly it's first race and trained by Mott who's having a great summer. Studied the whole card today and it turned out very nicely.

Glad you scored. The Mott horse was a strong play. I didn't play the Pletcher horse in the exacta, which was simply foolish. Even when I make good win picks, I still manage to screw up.

I'll add, after 6 weeks of betting horses just about every day, boy does it wear me out in all directions. The woulda, coulda, shouldas drive me crazy. I need a break for sure after the last race at Del Mar tonight.

Of course, minute I stop, a key horse will score at 15-1.
