i have the field for 200 but it only will pay 3/2. someone threw 3000 on the field the 1st day to bring the odds down

i just feel like the 3-2 isnt worth throwing money down on for something thats going to happen 3 months down the road. could probably turn the 200 into much more than having it tied up for 3 months

the last 7 years provrd a nice profit. what you dont understand is you can have up tp 10 out the 20 horses in the race. last year i had 10 of the 20 horses in the derby. i think it paid 7.20. thats not a bad investment. the field also won pool 2 and paid 13.00. the thing about this is you never know what its going to pay until the weekenfd is over. i have a better chance with my 10 horses in the derby than you do the 1 that you bet, i hope i get 10 horses. bettors are realizing this is a good bet. i have bet the field every year for the last 8 and show a good profit. pool 2 starts march 6th weekend. whats good about the field is this is a wide open field. plus i got all the horses in pool 1 and elimante them when owner decides not to run them, havent earned enough money or gets hurt. i am hoping to get 10 horses again. will keep this post going as we get closer to the derby. hell bettors tie up money for 7 months when betting futures. i have mine tied up for only 3 months.

I like Funny Cide to win again. I know its been years since his first derby win but I think he will come back and win his second derby this year.

On a serious note, last year was when I fully followed the prep races and watched the derby pools. I got caught up in the Dunkirk madness about got him at 13-1 in early MArch. I had about $300 on it. Then I plunged a bit on Musket Man after the TB and Ill Derby at nice odds around 14-1. Then KD weekend I bet General Quarters for a bit since I saw he was bet down. None panned out.

I didn't bet the pool 1 and am waiting for my book to post the odds since they are a little better vs the kd future pools if they aren't the top two chalk horses.

i will bet the field for the pool 2 but since pool1 is only going to pay 5.00 if it wins, i might pump it up a little. what i like about these pools is that i keep track of the horses that on in the pool to see who's doing what. every sarturday 6 or 7 of the horses run and i root against them. i will probably go to Vegas for the Derby
