Race 4 at Belmont on Thursday. Maiden Special on turf. No. 7 Risky Agenda makes 3rd start off the layoff and stretches to 1 1/8 around 2 turns, which led to a 2nd place finish in April at Aqueduct before a poor effort going a mile 3 weeks ago at Belmont.
Trainer switches from Samyn to Prado here, so they might mean business. Likely 4-1 or so.
Second play is bizarre. I wrote down this horse in my online stable a month ago. Castoway Girl broke her maiden at Monmouth for $10,000. Slow time for 6 furlongs at 1:12 4/5 (3 seconds slower than allowance race earlier that day) but I liked the way she won, so I figured if they ran her back for $5,000 or $7,500 claiming, it might be worth a play.
Now, she turns up in Race 5 Thursday for claiming $4,000 at Penn National. Same trainer. If they really thought the horse was sharp, why not run for more money at Penn? Instead, she's the 3-1 morning line favorite in a 12-horse field. Have to wait for the odds on this one, but she'll likely be bet down under 2-1 making it tough to take. Curious to see how it plays out but maybe she drifts up with the big field.
