Pari-mutual pools and off track betting
Does anyone know when a bet at an offsite book like Fanduel/TVG actually hit the ontrack handle.

I was, and often do, watch the pools for edges. I spotted one yesterday at Fairgrounds. A particular horse I had some interest in was way underbet in the show pool via TVG. With little or no time left I placed a $20 show bet, the last flash completely erased my edge. I wish I had a before and after snip. The show $$ for all horses at least tripled. I am suspicious that wagers are not hitting the onsite pools real time.

Does anyone have any more insight into when these pools are funded?

I didn't even know this. Article is old (2018?). Imagine what they are doing today?

Any knowledge that I had about pools is antiquated in todays betting markets. It used to be a 30 second to one minute delay to get all the money currently bet from all the sites. I think that changed but now there are these groups that pound pools, sometimes very late.

Because of all this, and the fact that these CRW's are basically doing exactly what you are, that way of identifying value is just about gone. Some might slip through but plenty does not. At least seemingly, not in today's betting world.

I think we are getting old Sir. More wisdom reduced to common knowledge. Oh well. That's life I guess.

A 12/23 Symposium on CRW's suggested that 1/3 of all para-mutual $ bet in 2022 was CRW's. They actually know and track the machines/groups making the bets. WOW!!!

Us old timers have lost the edge of doing the research and getting odds that are worth a wager. I do not even blink and eye when my horse goes from 5-1 to 5-2. Tough game.
