    Oaklawn Purse Increases
Oaklawn Park announced July 19 it will add nearly $1 million into the purses for key 2024 stakes for 3-year-olds, boosting the value of four 2024 Kentucky Derby (G1) points races and three qualifying races for the Kentucky Oaks (G1).

Oaklawn is one track that does transfer money made from the casino over to the horse side of their racino. When you have 3yo prep races paying 300k, 800k, 1.25 million, and 1.5 million during one meet is makes a statement IMO. They also increased the purses for the 3yo filly series with the Apple Blossom and Oaklawn Hcp. getting a boost to 1.25 million each.

Oaklawn Park announced Aug. 2 the largest purse increase in the track's 119-year history with purse distribution for the upcoming 2023-2024 season set for $60 million.

You guys probably get sick me crowing about Oaklawn, but I had to post this. The meet should attract the best dirt horses this winter. The average daily purse distribution will be $900,000. MSW will be $115,000. I am looking forward to the meet.
