Justify to be retired

Justify will not run another race. The horse that won 6 races in 4 months is retiring. He simply broke down a little at a time. Only 9 races have been run by the past 4 Kentucky Derby winners. Obviously trainers and owners are sacrificing these horses for a quick buck. One has to wonder how juiced up these horses are.

I think I read somewhere that he is worth as least $60 million, so if I were the owners, I would not risk it either.

Damn, that’s a lot of money. I guess when you consider he also broke the Apollo curse, and winning the Triple Crown. He may be warned more than $100 million when it is all said and done.

bc classic,pegasus and dubai worth about $30M combined so not like there's nothing to pass up..sure they've thought it through and ultimately maybe the insurance was too expensive

$30 mil is only purse money, that would be assuming he is going to win all three and at least three times. That’s seems like pretty tall order even for Justify.

yes should have been clearer about that..still 1 or even trying 2 out of 3 is big bucks if he succeeds.. also imo would add to his worth as a stallion I would think.
especially beating older horses..guess there's a downside to losing even if he hopefully comes out of it ok..sure
they've weighed the positives and negatives in making this decision
