Nashville Predators, Dallas Stars to sneak Over 5

The Predators have had little trouble scoring vs. the Stars, and that should be the case again vs. what has been a shaky Turco. The Stars can score too, so go Over.
Now we normally like to look for Unders early in the NHL season as we feel that totals are usually inflated the first couple of months, but this matchup between the Nashville Predators and the Dallas Stars appears to be an exception.
The Stars opened the season with a wild 5-4 overtime loss vs. the Columbus Blue Jackets, and then they were understandably fatigued when the lost 5-1 to the Predators at Nashville the very next night. They have now had three days off since that game on Saturday, and that fact plus the return home and the revenge angle should all equate to an improved offensive performance.
What has been more disappointing so far has been the performance of goaltender Marty Turco, who has a 3.91 GAA with a very low 86.4 percent save percentage. The Predators have had success against Turco recently, as well as vs. the Stars in general, averaging 3.60 goals per game in the last five head-to-head meetings.
This is not the first time that Turco has started slowly, so look for both teams to find the back of the net enough to push this contest Over the total.
Free Pick: Predators, Stars Over 5 (-125)
