Think this is a pick em game at best for Stl. Canucks should be small favs in this matchup.

Vancouver playing 3rd game in 4 nights.... and 4th game in 6 nights. thats tough in the nhl considering how fast paced the game is. Dont expect vancouvers legs to be very fresh. st louis is also a good team especially at home. They are 9-0-1 in last 10 home games... a run that included home wins vs. DET, SJ, DAL, NYR. And so far Elliott has been a hell of a goalie (.940 save %, 1.62 GAA). Vancouver somewhat reliant on powerplay. and st louis is home... for whatever that means. the line is accurate. Not saying which team wins. to be honest i dont care. but for 3rd game in 4 nights... all of them on the road... and playing a good team like st louis who is a great home team and has a hot goalie like Elliott ... the line is accurate. i might even think its too high for VAN... i see in the realm of -125, +115.

but of course everyone here is a canucks fan and they'll think playing the nucks every night is a good idea regardless of the line.

Meh, line is right. Canucks on the road after losing to the panthers and squeaked out a win against Tampa Bay.

Tricky spot here. Blues have played Canucks well over the last few years and are deadly on home ice this year.
Canucks usually are good as dogs though.

Canucks are 8-3 in their last 11 in the fourth game of a 4-in-6 situation.
Canucks are 21-7 in their last 28 in the third game of a 3-in-4 situation.

these statistics have lurking variables. how many of the 3rd in 4 stats were against great quality home teams like st louis?

another lurking variable in these stats- If you're applying games from 3 years ago with different players, etc... doesnt matter. you could have said "cleveland cavaliers are 8-1 in last 9 as road dog when they had lebron"... but that doesnt mean anything a year later without lebron since they are same team.
If these last 28 games are all from this year and last year... or with about 75% or higher of same players, its relevant. if your talking about a team that has 12 different players, not the same. i dont think stats from 2006 have any bearing on what happens in 2012. different players. whole nother situation.

playing 3 in 4 nights is easier at home because you dont have the travel, flights, hotel, getting to bed at 3am without enough sleep, jetlag factor from time zone change, etc.
obviously home ice advantage helps too

Now, im not saying stl wins. im not saying van wins. to be honest, i absolutely dont care. im not betting it. I dont think that VAN +107 is that hot of a play. I think we can wait for something better. of course if VAN wins 4-1 ppl will come on here and call me an idiot. but i think the line is right.

I just feel Stl is a grossly overrated team. They have no real goal scorers, just a bunch of guys who are getting lucky in my opinion. Similar to what the Wild did earlier in the season, but nobody believed them. And you shouldn't believe these Blues, they wont do anything this season. Just another pretender.
Canucks are proven winners, they win these games that nobody expects them to. They did this all of last season, I witnessed it. They are starting to do it now, do not fade this team.

the blues are a quality team with 1st class goaltenders... luongo on the other hand nothing but a proven choke artist with the exception of the olympics.

without their powerplay the canucks are just an OK team. Some of those wins last year only came because of their powerplay (and Loungo, who has some games where he's not a sieve). they also play in a weak division with colorado, edmonton, and calgary. got a lot of fluffy wins last year. their record made them look intimidating, but if they played in the central division their record probably would have looked a lot different. and they're not that proven. they only made one good playoff run where "their proven-ness" didnt stop them from blowing a 2-0 lead and getting outscored 23-8. It's not like they've made deep runs in playoffs for the last 5 consecutive years. And the whole "they're proven" theory is more a line of logic that justifies winning a specific playoff 7-game series against certain opponents. That "they're proven" logic cant be used on a nightly basis against everyone, or else they'd be winning almost every game.
you're right that stl doesnt have many all star goal scorers... but their goalie Elliott steals a lot of games for them. If Halak gets the nod tomorrow, you might be able to play it. but if Elliott is in net.. no play for me.
VAN playing 3rd game in 4 nights, on the road... against a team that's beating chicago in the division, 2nd in the entire western conf, 9-0-1 over last 10 home games with wins against DAL, SJ, DET, NYR... and has an extremely hot goaltender. no play for me.
Listen kid. I dont care who wins tomorrow. I'm not telling you how to bet. to be honest, its your money and you can do whatever the hell you want with it. I dont really care. you're probably going to bet them anyway and come back and say "told you so" after they win. Go ahead: I can't stop you. I just think the lines pretty accurate, if not lenient towards st louis given the situation. You might win. you might lose. I just think you can wait for a better bet that comes along. just offering my free advice, thats all. take it for what its worth.
Either way, good luck.

Btw, did anyone look up the head to head this season? St louis leads 2-0 with 1 shut out.
If you're the objective gambler, you have to side with the blues. 2-0 vs canucks with a shutout is no fluke. Blues on a 4 game win streak returning home for the first of 5 home games and Vancouver is easily their toughest opponent. I gotta assume they're going to play balls out and chill against the weaker teams like edmonton and buffalo.

Vancouver in tough spot, St. Louis out to prove they are legit. Sure they could lose, it's hockey. St. Louis has 2 wins on OT/SO this year
St. Lous -.5 +135 There's your value in this one and that's my play.

lol what kind of statisitics show 2 missed shorthanded break aways, a blocked goal off the face, A sqirter out from behind the goal thal lands on a stick and a puck stuck in the pads that falls into the goal?
