Chicago on the PL -1.5 +155
I'll take my chances in this one, Calgary traveling a lot, Kiprusoff seems to be falling off and Chicago en feuego. +155 not bad for this one.

Also going to take a hard look at St Louis -.5 tomorrow, but will probably lay off it. If anyone has a strong reason to play this one or not let me know, looks like Halak may be in net b/b. Starting my new years resolition now: watch more hockey games, bet on fewer hockey games.

chicago has been going to shootouts and overtime 6 times in their last 8 games. i think they will win, but by a hair.

i like the blues as well even though they just narrowly lost to nashville last night. Should be a low scoring game.

We will see, I think they may have been underperforming at first. Emery has been much better than Crawford and he might be the spark they need to get everything rolling. They have lots of talent. I am a lifelong Hawks fan, but actually tend to be very critical of them. I think this team has very good potential, especially if they make a move or two to improve the blueline.

As I said before, the play should be on the Flames money line. They have covered the +1.5 puck line by losing exactly one point as an underdog in their 3 last road games. They're on their fourth consecutive road trip and I'm saying that they'll beat the Blackhawks outright because of this situation.

There is some value there maybe. But why does the number of road trips they have been on lead you to believe this will make them beat the Blackhawks?

Liking the Hawks here but the ML is too chalky and I hate fav pucklines. Going to have a couple of bucks on the Flamers PL. Calgary always shows up to play the Hawks.

Here are the results of teams from last season that went on a consecutive road trip of at least 4 games that have lost the first 3 road games by exactly 1 point as an underdog (meaning they covered the +1.5 puck line) and won outright as an underdog on their fourth road game.

                  1. Calgary Flames:
                  @ Detroit Red Wings (11/21/2010): lost 4-5
                  @ New York Rangers (11/22/2010): lost 1-2
                  @ New Jersey Devils (11/24/2010): lost 1-2
                  @ Philadelphia Flyers (11/26/2010): won 3-2

                  2. Colorado Avalanche:
                  @ Carolina Hurricanes (12/3/2010): lost 1-2
                  @ Tampa Bay Lightning (12/4/2010): lost 5-6
                  @ Florida Panthers (12/7/2010): lost 3-4
                  @ Atlanta Thrashers (12/10/2010): won 4-2

                  3. Carolina Hurricanes:
                  @ New Jersey Devils (2/8/2011): lost 2-3
                  @ Philadelphia Flyers (2/10/2011): lost 1-2
                  @ Tampa Bay Lightning (2/12/2011): lost 3-4
                  @ Atlanta Thrashers (2/13/2011): won 3-2

I think that is way to small of a sample size and questionable cause/effect to have any relevance to this game. Chicago just a better team, actually getting bretter goaltending recently(from Emery who is in tongiht), at home where the tend to excell and if you look at the scheduelling/travel that favors them too. Those factors all far more relevant to this game.

Stuff like this will get you buried in hockey. Last years results mean very little in the here and now. Hockey is about match-ups, schedule and hot teams.

You guys are right. The Flames are losing right now. I see why you can't bet based on past results. The past results that I gave out wasn't enough of a sample space. I'm sorry for everyone who took my advice and betted on the Flames.

No worries, people make their own bets. I sort of felt that only way Calgary would win this one is if Emery dropped a turd on us, so I also played the over in this one(also tip o' the hat to Bob Loblaw for that play.) 4-2, I love you.

Nice hit. Have you looked at any lines for tomorrow? I think the philly will bounce back in Colorado and I like Detroit in Edmonton as well (Edmonton returning home from a road trip).

Liking detroit in edmonton as well, staying away from the over under though. I think it will stay under 5 but i'm not confident in that.

No way on Philly, too much travel, too many injuries, not getting good goalie play, Colorado should be more rested and I think they will take this one. Just not pulling triger on the +110 yet, may play them to win in regulation if I can get +190 or better.

Detroit on the PL +210 I just played, doing a post for it now.
