#3153nice cash that chi/phi over! got back the toronto 1st period loss.
so mad at myself for just going small on the Boston PL. I hate taking PL's and when I do I tend to go small, but wow Boston is just pouring it on!Comment -

my favorite thing though is open parlays, 3 or 4 teamers....just have to be patient and not be in a rush to close it out. the best thing about a 3 teamer is once the 1st 2 hit, you can guarantee a profit by hedging.Comment -

#3159Funny I do the same thing. i tend to play 3 or 4 teamers but a lot of the time i do the no overtime bets at -320 or -400, heavy juice but i cap the games and do pretty well at picking the games that won't go to OT. usually a $10 to pay $10 /$15...lose some of them but win more and like you say $5/$10 bets aren't breaking the bank but its always great to hit a parlay. my favorite thing though is open parlays, 3 or 4 teamers....just have to be patient and not be in a rush to close it out. the best thing about a 3 teamer is once the 1st 2 hit, you can guarantee a profit by hedging.
Hilarious comment. You're welcome

#3180help
hi DG im new to this and want to ask ur help. just a little back ground: my son was hit by an ied in Afghanistan and i took 5 months off work to stay with him in the hospital until sure he was going to pull thru, and would do it again in a heart beat.
but it left me in deep debt. while in Bethesda, navy chief took some of us to a capitols game and i loved it. never have been a betting man but now thought it may be a way to work out of debt. I found this site and you seem to be "Da Man". My questions: what sportsbook do u recommend? How much money should i place on each bet? do u bet on other sports besides hockey? Any other tips or recommendations appreciated. Thank you for any and all helpComment -

I use Pinnacle mostly (which isn't available to US residents unfortunately) but I would recommend 5 Dimes. They have a lot of different options for betting.
Bet whatever you feel comfortable with and you can afford to lose. I wouldn't recommend gambling to get out of debt it will most likely end badly. Instead bet to supplement your income and be happy with an extra few hundred bucks here and there. I pretty much just bet hockey as I know it the best but bet MLB as well usually. I bet $100 per unit so on average I'd say I end up betting $500-$1000 a night which is definitely risky and has resulted in some bad nights this year from time to time.
Start small I would say and see how you do. Bet $5-$10 units and see how things work out and if you enjoy it. The last thing you wanna do it bet over your head and bet emotionally. You gotta stay disciplined and bet like a robot pretty much. Try not to tilt and make huge bets that will wipe out your bankroll. It's a long and steady grind and there's no need to try and break the bank every night. If you don't enjoy gambling give it up before it gets too series and things become way worse. We've all been there. Nothing worse than waking up to a bankroll of $0 that was $2000+ the previous night.
I think this is the best advice I can give you. I don't wanna glorify gambling to be a guaranteed source of extra income, it definitely is still a challenge so start small and see how you do and NEVER bet more than you can afford to lose. Don't start betting mortgage payments etc on sports.

#3185Thanks for the advice DG it all sounds very level headed. I will start with just $10 a unit. by the way is that what the dollar signs mean after your bets? thankyou for taking the time to answer, i would give you points, but haven't figured out how to do that yet.Comment
