    hockey totals
just wanted to get some thoughts on hockey totals, i will admit i can't even get 50%, when i think over, it goes under , when i think under it goes over,

just wondering if the hockey total is a play some the top players stay away from, i have decided to just not even look at the total

especially the empty net goal can screw you over

    any feedback would be great
    thanks

Well, I only play totals. To me they are actually easier to hit than playing ML. Not saying that I'm great at doing it but it just comes easier. To me hockey is too unpredictable to play ML on a regular basis.

Anyway, if you look around the hockey forum you'll notice that some of the better cappers play mainly totals. A lot of team and period totals are played.

That said I think it comes down to personal preference but I think totals are a good bet to make.

Totals ROCK. That's almost all I play. The key to winning is patience.sp You just cannot play some nights. Take last Sunday. There were 4 games and all were mismatches of high and low scoring, and poor and good defensive teams. Red Flag. Wednesday-tommoro has excelant opertunities. STL-CBJ, Tor-FLA, BOS-PIT, and BUF-NJ are all plays of the week for me, Like minded teams-STL is #23 in offence and #1 in defence. That's a pefect combination 1.42 goals a game and allowing only 2.50 goals against. CBJ is 29 on offence and 9th defensively.

That game is an extreme example-a gimme in my estimation! TOR-FLA is a little more dificult. TOR is #28 in offence and 10th defence-easy. Fla is 9th scoring but is good defensively-about 5th. Axuly they are close to average-however a couple of games ago they were in a 11 goal game. This skews their offence up and defence down.

Forgot to say STL is 4-6 over/under CBJ is 3-9 Tor is 5-7 and Fla is 5-6 . All good signs. The next two games are good also if you research them- WHEN you research them. Gotta go. Games start in 40 minutes and I have not bet yet.

Yeah, those were the two games I was on last night as well. Great plays on paper. Oh well, stay persistent and you'll get em back. I was 4-0 just the night before. Like the Bruins under and the Blues under again tonight too.

When it comes to over and under I do some research first. I look at who is net, I look at trends of the past, I look at their recent games, I look at injuries. I sometimes go with my gut feeling of a team breaking out of a funk. It's early, but so far I am 4-2 in O/U.

Yeah, I use some of the same tactics to cap but I'm more of a system guy myself. I've done some research and think I've come up with something that works (I play NBA totals too).

Anyway, just checked out your thread. Looks pretty good so far. I like to look in on other people that play totals to kind of compare plays. BOL this season.

I put up way too much on those^but I got most of it back tonight with the two mentioned. Scores were 2-2 and 3-1 I believe. Only one good under tommorow - MIN-FLA so I'm looking at DAL-ANA at 5.5 and TB-PIT over 6. TB-PIT have a combined o/u of16-13.
