    OYC's 2010-11 NHL Plays
It's that time of the year again guys!

The 2010-11 season will only be my second as an hockey capper. There are most definitely some more experienced bettors out there, but in terms of knowledge about the game and the current teams, I feel confident that I am really up there on par or superior to just about anyone on this subforum. You can count on me to throw out some real solid +EV plays because I know all of those 30 teams thoroughly, from the key components to the 13th forward, fringe NHLer. This is really hands down my favorite wagering sport, and the one I feel I'll be most succesful at, as I gain experience. I'm aware of the system used by head coaches, and I do not like to use trends for the NHL as each season is fairly different in this league.

I will be using units (between 0.5 and 5) when I post my plays, and my average number of risked units is 2.

Without further ado, let's have some fun and most importantly, try to make some interesting profits in the upcoming 9 months of NHL action!

      1 play today

      • Calgary/Edmonton Over 5.5 Goals (+104) @ Pinnacle 2 units to win 2.08
Two speedy teams meet up at Rexall Place in their season opener. This game will be played at a very fast pace. Because of that speed on both sides of the ice, I expect tons of penalties to be called on both teams on what is probably the fastest surface in the whole league. The fact that it's the Albertan rivalry should also lead to plenty of PP opportunities on each side. On the Oilers side, I expect at least one of the 3 rookies on offence playing in their 1st NHL game (Eberle, Hall and MPS) to light up the scoresheet.

I think Kipper and the Calgary defence will be looking for a bounce back performance from their digusting outing against the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday. Also, Kings always seem to play a tight-checking game away from Staples Center. Also, I have a lot of faith in Jonathan Bernier. He's a star in the making, a real solid goaltender who's very steady.

I'm probably not going to be making daily picks since I have a new job as a sports journalist. It's keeping me very busy and sadly I didn't have much time to cap NHL action yet. But yeah, once I get used to my new routine, I'll probably post more plays.

                    Cheers.
