They will be facing the winner of a #7 Vs #8 match up.

Pavy you are better than this. All you've explained is why Hawks/Sharks are +180/190 and Flyers/Habs are over +400.

Prob(Hawks win cup) > Prob(Sharks win cup) && Prob(Hawks beat Sharks) = Prob(Sharks beat Hawks) ==> Prob(Hawks beat Eastern team given they're in final) > Prob(Sharks beat Eastern team given they're in final)

Are Hawks really better against the East, or these two teams in general?

It has to be the travelling factor. It's a huge trip from San Jose to Montreal or Philly whereas Hawks only have to travel shortly to either place from Chicago.

Come on pavy... even if travel is a factor, it will only be for one game (and they get several days off in between series), after that they all have the same travel. And this only occurs if the Hawks/Sharks series is closed out in SJ.

Maybe Sharks are better travelers than Habs/Flyers..?

[The problem has now been corrected since Hawks are favs to win Cup and to beat Sharks]

Everything is within a few cents though, so not that drastic. Sharks series is close to a Pick, and difference between Hawks and Sharks to win Cup is only about 10 cents.

I wasn't talking about the players being rested. I'm talking about the fans. Hawks will travel with fans in numbers in the East Coast. Who the fukk is going to fly 5 hrs from San Jose to see the Sharks?
