Detroit will probably win but I'm hoping the line moves to +380/400 range. I don't think any teams are more than 4-1 dogs in NHL hockey.

Don't waste your money on Oilers guys. Yup, they can pull upsets but only when they're at home. Red Wings are hot lately. This isn't a game like Calgary vs Washington or Chicago vs Columbus.

I'm expecting Red Wings to score 5 or 6 six goals tonight. Just like the Minnesota game. So my pick is,

edmonton was +325, and they have had great success on detroit this year. +325 is well worth a small play - nothing large maybe half unit at best...

but to play detroit at these odds is crazy.

i posted a small play on edmonton early today on mythread, and I stand by that. if the series was a split and the odds were like this it would be a different story, but edmonton has had detroits number this year, so +325 is well worth the risk. small play winning would equal big reward.

i personally dont like chalk over 200.

I actually bet the wings a year ago at -300 something against a team that they owned, and it was when the wings were GREAT....and they got killed. I ended up losing over 400 bucks on a "sure thing" ML.

I'm sure if you looked at the winning percentage of teams that are -300 or more on the moneyline, you would see a good reason to bet the dog. but thats just speculation.

but the wings won tonight, and those that had the berries to bet it won.

i tip my hat.

there used to be a guy around these parts that loved huge chalk... his name was "Curious". I'm not 100% certain what the game was, but I know it was a college hoops game....anyways, he bet - or at least claimed to bet - some kind of crazy monleyline. and I couldnt even tell you the real number. he loved betting on huge ML's. it would actually be funny to go back and see the threads posted by him and see the ML's that he bet on and lost HUGE!

There was a few that I had seen him take, but none was bigger than the one that I was talking about - and I seriously wish I could remember what game that was - AND what the actual ML was. he lost over 10k on one game with the chance of only winning a few hundred. it was awesome because he was such a prick.

he would post his plays, and if you posted on his thread he would be a complete dick if you asked a question about one of his crazy plays.

example:

CURIOUS: $1000 on lakers ML -10,000
