yes(all that extracurricularactivity) if we're talking about canadas gold medal earnings. i couldnt give less of a chit in all honesty. does that make me a bad person? probably.

i do know when the US last gold in hockey came. i was 8 and still get choked up watching re-runs of it.

Hell no... Most American's didn't even know the game was on today.

March Madness in basketball is about to start and the Laker's are playing on ABC.

Now if you guys were to beat us in Football, there would be mayhem in the streets.

Nah they will say ah well and switch to Nascar. Not a big deal to them. It would have only been a big deal if they won.

Exactly! Funny how when they loose it doesn't matter, but if they win its the best thing in the world. If USA had won I'm sure it would be on the front page of every newspaper.

5 million Canadians watched when they announced the Canadian roster for the Olympics while 50 or so watched in the US.

You just have to be there to truly understand it.

Dwight - There's 5 million people here in Houston and I'd bet there's less than 50 hockey players in the entire city.

first off: wow! what a game. but damn it did it need to be cindy one more thing and ill shut-up, i promise: well, the other proverbial shoe finally came cascading down with miller. someone from canada please tell me that was some kind of spectacular goal and i might give him more points but geez...i thought it'd take more than that in sudden death ot.
he's right back where he left off (pre olympics) on my nhl goalie chit list. thanks for not letting me down ry-boy
i bet a few were eyeing the windows up north with 24 ticks left in regualtion

2nd: you guys have no idea how spot on you are! true story: i cant make this shit up. about 10 minutes left in reg i cant stand it anymore and head down to the auto parts store for an o2 sensor with instructions to my step son to call me if the US tied it up. there i am in the picking up windshield washer fluid in the middle of the joint when my phone rings. im going: "what? with 24 seconds left! holy chit-no way!?!" when i snap out of it and come back to reality there are about 4 people looking at me like im nuts. i tell em its Olympic Hockey and they looked back at me like i was speaking french. needless to say i get outta there and head for my NHL bros place for the OT of all OT's (nhl superstar wise) and that fat bastard(typical american stereotype) is watching nascar i beg him to turn on the coverage so i dont miss a word (now sudenly i give a shit for some reason) and he flat out refuses. fearing id miss anything by zipping home i hang there till he (this fat bastard) decides he'll turn the game on. 19 something on the clock and we're watching us vs can hockey baby, tied up, 20 min of OT? ok.... "hey is this 20 min period or suden death", he asks me. "hey how the phuck should i know your fat ass is sitting there watching phuckin rednecks turn left all day and not watching the pre-ot rundown, asshole!" lucky for me by the time my head was just about to explode from the "not knowing" cindy scored.-congrats canada

*didnt mean to get long winded but coming home and reading this thread i couldnt help but literally laugh out loud.

Could've gone either way, Good job Canada and HELL of a try USA!
My previous reply was damn close. I predicted 3-2, and USA score the last seconds of the game.
They did, for a tie. My bet was USA +1 and the under. Won both.

its funny how the Americans were all like Canada is going down blah blah, Canadians will jump off buildings blah blah. Well Canada won and only a "few" Canadians rubbed it in..... If USA won these forums would have been filled with USA is best , USA is great, Canada sux, and so on.
