Ottawa is tough at home, and Caps on back to back for me this is a tough one. I'd lean slightly towards Ottawa actually. Playing a total in this one seems to be the best bet in this one.

Looks like Varlamov will make his long awaited return for the Caps tonight. This should give them a huge boost. This is really a tough game to call.

You can NEVER count out the Caps becasue I must admit these guys battle hard every night. Getting Varly back will be a huge boost for sure, but I'd take the Caps on the moneyline and the Over on this one.

I'm doing some research into it. Initially I liked it, but Varlamov is a lot better goalie than Theodore or Neuvirth so it's not quite as attractive to me. I may end up just doing a 1st period over on it.

Tough game for me personally to take so i'm going to steer clear. These are two of hockeys hottest teams going at it. In one sense i'd lean towards Ottawa because Washington is playing in back to back nights and because Ottawa is at home. At the same time Washington is the best team in the NHL right now and with Varlamov returning it will certainly give a big boost as you guys have stated.

Should be an interesting one to watch unfold though. BOL to everyone who bets on the game.

Caps struggle after losses. They have several small losing streaks this season.

Varly has not faced nhl shots in a long time. He struggled early at Hershey in his rehab but got stronger as play progressed.

The Sens are my second fav team. They have alot to prove tonight. Their top line rivals the Caps top line. The Sens are tough at home because they get good matchups with the last line change.

I think this is a 4-3 game that goes to the Sens. Too close to bet except prob the OVER.

ottawa should take care of business. when a team ends a big winning streak they usually lose a couple befroe bouncing back.

Ottawa+1.5 at -270 is probably the safest play but obviouly not much value. Would definitely go well in a parlay though.

Some random thoughts to this game include the home team winning the last 8 times, Washington will be a little down after their win streak ended last night, Washington on b2b road games with the first going into OT, Ottawa is playing solid hockey atm, last matchup Washington won 5-2 at home.

Those are just some important factors to take into account.

Personally I'm on the Ottawa ML as I think Washington isn't going to come out and play tonight. i know that Washington should score a pile of goals but this is the type of game that could end up 4-1 or something fluky like that.

definitely agree with you here.... but obviously Ottawa was the exception to that rule after winning 11, losing 5-0 to the Leafs and most recently beating Calgary 3-2 at home. I think Ottawa will come out and play much much harder than the Caps and probably taking Ottawa 1st Period is a good play as well.
