Tonight's skate between the Nashville Predators and St. Louis Blues at the Scottrade Center should fall under the total.

Neither team is playing very well at the moment with the Predators just 3-4 in their last seven and the Blues 3-6 over their last nine. Rather than lay almost two bucks with a Nashville team that is already 6-0 vs Blues this year, but losers of three straight roadies by 12-6 aggregate, we'll look at the total.

Nashville is on current 5-1 under run with inconsistant offense (16 goals in last six games) that prompted them to make Peter Forsberg deal (check status). The Predators are 19-9 under vs losing teams and 19-10 under on the road.

The Blues beat Columbus 4-2 in their last game on Wednesday which puts St Louis in a 9-1 under spot off a win by 2+ goals, and 6-2 under spot off scoring four or more. St Louis is also 35-19 under versus division opponents and 10-5 under off 3+ consecutive overs.

Take into account that the series is 11-3 under in the last 14 meetings, and we have pretty strong case for goals being a premium tonight. Play the under.

    Play: Predators-Blues Under 5½

Nashville just flat out owns the Blues. Now with that being said, I'll be laying the 1.5 with the Preds in this game.

Fine point here xxx. I see that the Saturday game went under versus the Wild. They host Coyotes Monday, Habs mid-week and Red Wings next week; three home games.

Maybe look at Forsberg being more of a factor even as early as versus Phoenix, just because it's on an innocent looking Monday night away from all the First-Forsberg-Game jitters.
