Last season the 'Canes had a lower PDO than the Flames and Oilers, in fact the 2nd to lowest in the league (Toronto) while also being the best team in the league against strong power plays (2nd lowest PIM and 6th best PK%).

That + some good new players = I think the 'Canes will do significantly better this year and be a bit underrated.

I've been going with Canes for every game and intend to do so until they lose by more than 1.
Last season they were involved in very close games as well and don't see that changing.
Maybe best team to take at +1.5

After huge momentum killers in the last 2 games I expected them to lose against the Oilers here, but I think very soon they will win a few games, maybe vs. Fliers and/or Wings before they head for their home opener.
