Wow what a show put on by Ovechkin. Him and Crosby both have had good games, but that there is why Ovechkin is the best player in the league.

I had to listen to the game on the radio, it sounded pretty nuts. 2 players get a hat-trick in the same game! Has that ever happened before? In the playoffs?

Yeah I don't get why the nhl fell off in US. If the nhl can get a contract with espn it would help. Not everyone has versus. I have watched far more games on the internet than tv. The sport isn't going to attract any new fans when it is nearly impossible to watch a game on tv. Heck even major league lacrosse has one game a week on espn over the summer. Poker is on espn. All kinds of rediculous sports but NHL can't work out a contract? At least nbc shows some games throughout the season and on the weekends through the playoffs. The NHL postseason is the most exciting in pro sports imo and even if they would broadcast all the playoff games the sport would make some new fans. Catching games on nbc on the weekends is fine but if you can't follow a series in its entirety you miss the full affect.

The NHL needs to do something before it is too late. There are several up and coming sports who will have big contracts with major networks soon and there will be no options left for hockey.

I agree that ESPN needs to show hockey. Fishing, poker, bowling and pool but no hockey? Gimme a break. Its popular enough to get covered everyday on sportscenter.
