    Defend them from what?

You assume too much kid, and are quick to point the finger without knowing the facts, I was just defending common sense.

Fact is the Canucks are a decent team with a very good goalie, they do not match up well against Detroit though, enjoy the run, it likely ends in Michigan.

The Leafs havn't won a cup in the Canucks existance. So the Leafs have the longer cup drought.
      Time too pop that cherry.
Detroit will be exposed, they are more vunerable than y'all think.

According to you, Vancouver is ahead of the Leafs 0-0 in Stanley Cups.
Solid logic, I can tell your bookie loves you.

I'm aware of the Anti Toronto sentiment on the forgotten coast, but the most important NHL team in Canada are still the Leafs, with or without the Stanley Cup, the Canucks are an afterthought, most here in the east are asleep when Vancouver plays its games.

Fvck, even Willie Bee is a Leafs fan.

          from these comments....

Vancouver is not Canada's last hope, the NHL will be around for a long time, there will be many chances for Canadian teams to win the cup.

Why do you think they (Canucks) have a shot at the Cup?
They will be totally outclassed by Detroit IF they get by Chicago.

Seriously, Vancouver isn't that good, they are a decent team but not the same calibre as the Wings, really.

Do I think they have a shot? Only Toronto fans make these kind of comments.

Chicago won't be easy but if they get by them and assuming Detroit gets by the Ducks you said "They will be totally outclassed by Detroit" Ya of course they will. Again, a Toronto comment, Typical

then you said .."are quick to point the finger without knowing the facts, I was just defending common sense."

          Where is the common sense?

You are obviously a smart guy who knows his hockey. Making these obvious attempt to belittle Vancouver's chances is so transparent and insulting to hockey fans.

You could be right in the end, no doubt, but "Seriously, Vancouver isn't that good", "They will be totally outclassed by Detroit". ??? are pretty goofy comments.

They haven't even drooped the put yet and you say and "the NHL will be around for a long time, there will be many chances for Canadian teams to win the cup."

You Torontonians really make me scratch my head sometimes

          Shall I continue?

I've been to Canucks Leafs games here in Vancouver. It's sickening. Half the stadium is Leafs fans. That's why there is no motivation to win. The money will always be there.

            The forgotten coast... haha

We'll see who wins a cup first in this millenium...

Me personally, I love when the Habs or Leaves play in Vancouver. Only when we win actually (kidding). The atmosphere is unique and the hostility and chanting, I LIKE!

It's awesome. The best is going to Calgary to watch the Canucks in Vancouver gear. That is a hostile place. I was there for game 6 last series we had with them. A chick punched me in the face cause I was wearing a Bertuzzi jersey. Nuts. Canucks won that game in triple OT. I went there this season and watched the game were Bertuzzi hit the post in the SO. I was wearing the same jersey around town and people were giving me props. How things change...

Betplom you are one bitter sally. To say the Canucks have no chance against Detroit is pretty stupid. I know your team sucks and has no future but no need to bring down Canada's most solid franchise. If Canucks/Detroit meet up in the Conference Finals I will gladly bet you at the online odds.

I think people in Surrey went TOO wild after the Canucks won. A couple of fans decided to break a cops leg during the celebration a week ago lol.

Why Surrey? Looks like a crazier party than I saw here downtown...

Haha yeah 94 will never be topped for intensity unless we make the finals and are up 3-0 or 3-1 and then totally choke, then the city will be burnt to the ground.

Vancouver would beat the Wings. And with San Jose out in the West, Vancouver is the favorite to come out, IMO. Detroit isn't the same team as last year, they don't play defense anymore, and their goaltending is nothing short of awful.

Worry about getting past Chicago before you go shooting off your mouth about Detroit, I know you're excited having a team still in the playoffs but don't discount the Blackhawks.

                                Go Hawks.

Canucks still need to beat Chicago, which won't be easy, don't think the canuck Swedie twins have it in them.

Offensively the Wings are a better team, but defensively and in net the Canucks have a distant advantage.

Whatever, I'd still take Detroit every time over the Canucks this season, Vancouver is already looking past Chicago.

                                          I like Chicagos chances too.

Yes, I think the Canucks are a better team. Sundin was a nice addition. But the emergence of guys like Burrows and Kesler have been a huge lift.

And I don't think Detroit is built for the playoffs anymore. When was the last time a Detroit team was so poor on the penalty kill? When was the last time Detroit didn't rank in the top 5 in goals against? They just don't like playing defense anymore. Brad Stuart has reverted back into a mediocre defensemen. Lidstrom isn't the same player. And we all know the struggles Osgood has had this season.

Detroit = Capitals, and that isn't a good thing.

I won't argue with that, the Capitals lack of effort isn't really surprising given the nationality of their top players.

As poorly as you claim Detroits defense is it was still good enough to get them this far, I can see them improving as they get closer to the prize.

Canucks, seriously? I suppose anything can happen, but i have little faith in the Canucks.

Guys stop arguing with betplom he clearly hasn't watched more than two Canucks games this year and one was against Toronto. The Canucks are far more than Luongo this year. They finally have two scoring lines, not just the sedins. Burrow and Kesler have been HUGE for us this year.

While they may have a chance with Chicago they have much less chance vs the winner of Anaheim/Detroit.

I know the weed is very good in BC, looks like it may be a little too good for Canuck (fans) dreamers.
