like what, everygame is basically the same scenario...
this is one of the few games where it actually matters for the canes to get home ice.

I don't know. There are thirteen NHL games tomorrow. Every game is NOT the same scenario. You have better options!

I am leaning hard on the Canes for this one. They need a win to at least have a chance at home ice. They are 5 seed now and a win and some luck will make them a 4. Devils really have not been playing well and will not gain anything in the standing with a win. Even though the Canes got their asses handed to them by Buf the other night, they have a lot to prove in setting the tone for the playoffs.

The safer bet on this one might be Canes +1.5 but -260 wont pay the bills.

There's better games today? I doubt it. The only other game with decent odds that actually means something is Pens @ Habs.

My lean right now is Canes ftw and try to get a bank roll for the day.

I don't know how important the Canes think this is if they are puting in Leighton.

I think they view it as very important. It is key to get Leighton some playing time just in case he has to go in during the playoffs. What time better to play him then against a good team.So far he has looked really good in this game. The only goals the devils have are off crazy bounces which aren't his fault.

Consider the first period play alone, I am really liking what I am seeing out of the Canes. I still feel good about my bet on them to win the game. The value was nice and there is still 40 mins to play.

I will check back in after the second. I forgot about the period starting off with a PP, I am a little nervous about that.

I would have to give the 2nd period to the Devils. There were just in the Carolina zone too much. With that said, the Hurricanes showed some mighty defense and Leighton performed might well. Lets hope the third period ens with some pucks in the net for the 'Canes.

I should have followed my initial instinct. Devils up 3-2 with 4:00 left in the game.

I don't think you can look at it like that. The last goal the devils scored was the only "creditable" goal in my opinion. I would consider this game in my bad beats column, simply due to the first two goals the devils got. The situation does look a little grim since there is only 3:30 left to play and the devils are on a power play. The 'Canes special teams play has been nothing short of extraordinary today. Maybe we will get lucky and get a short handed goal.

I still felt like Leighton played a good game today and it really makes me optimistic for the playoffs.

True the first two goals were garbage. Hurricanes just don't seem to have what it takes though. Could have won these last two games and got home ice.
