I see a lot of people throw around big numbers around here with little to 0 actual record keeping.

Which is fine I guess. It's not like an SBR rule or anything.

I guess it just frustrates me that people would not be tracking this information because we could analyze and learn from it.

Just my 2 cents on it.

For instance, I am negative units in all 3 of my current threads (NHL playoffs, NBA playoffs, and I'm down BIG in MLB). But in the process I'm learning and getting better.

I tracked my first full season of NCAAB this year and was profitable. I was horseshit in the beginning and by the end I had actually learned something. I swear to christ it's useful to actually do and stick with.
