Hi there, I realize I am new and have no credibility yet. Track this thread all season long for winning nhl picks.

Tonight:

San Jose regulation win @1.95 1.5 units

Rangers carrying more value than they should here after a win last night in LA. However the team as a whole well likely be sluggish after the game, but mainly Lundqvist who is on the other end of back to back starts. Look for a similiar result to the rangers opening 4-1 loss in Phx. San Jose was one of the strongest home teams last year, so far I believe they will only build on that.

Colorado @ Toronto Under 6 @ 1.80 1 Unit

Both teams should come in to this rested and prepared, and I believe it will play a little tighter than people and the bookies think. I am a little scared to call the under with all of the offensive talent that will be on the ice, but Varlamov and Bernier have looked very strong and I see good value @1.80 for under 6. I think the odds of winning or a push at worst are good.

Tampa Bay ML @ 1.95 1 Unit

If bishop can carry on his strong play I think Tampa will surprise a few people this year. Buffalo could be looking to break out in this one, but for now I'd rather take a team that just won in chicago than a team that is yet to win.

Both teams have played a very open style, playing in games averaging well over 5.5 goals. I think the inexperienced flames well keep this type of play going tonight. If Karri Ramo were in the net for the flames, this would be a bigger play for sure.

Couple Picks Today:

Pittsburgh -1.5 over Florida 1.5 units @ 2.60

No reason to over think this one to me. Pittsburgh is a team that usually comes out ready for every game and even though I hate the pens I must admit they rarely pass up easy points. They are far and away better than Florida, and although I think Florida well come out hard after that big 7-2 loss I still think the Pens superstars will easily carry them through just as Stamkos and the boys did last night.

Calgary Moneyline @1.91 1 unit

Not only have the flames been pulling out surprise wins, I have found that they almost have deserved even more points than they have. Their puck possession is excellent, and have been playing a very good hard style. Mcdonald seems to be getting some confidence and playing better aswell. Also betting against Brodeur has worked well for me so far this year as bookies still respect him but I believe he is definitely a lower tier goaltender now.

Boston Bruins regulation win @ 2.25/1 unit

Not as much reasoning as I sometimes like for this one. I think Boston is just a better team and I believe they will come into this game feeling like they have something to prove after that home loss to Colorado. The blue jackets have looked good, but they haven't truly been tested by anyone on Boston's level.

Toronto Maple Leafs regulation win @1.90/1.5 units

The Oilers have hardly deserved the few points they have even managed. Lack of depth at the center and defensive positions has led to some easy goals for opposing teams. Toronto has been playing good, sound hockey right now and I believe unless the Oilers young superstars really bring it tonight they won't be in this game. On top of this, Bernier is playing like he is desperate for that #1 spot and Toronto likely well be able to make a few more mistakes than Edmonton without being punished. The Leafs also have a good record in the saturday night CBC games the last two years, and always come out revved up for HNIC.

Detroit Red Wings regulation win @ 1.87/ 1 unit

Not only did Philly play last night, but they got bit bad by the injury bug. I've thought Lecavalier has actually been one of their better forwards so far, and he is now taken out of an offensive lineup that has scored just 3 times over the last 2 games. Scott Hartnell is obviously an even bigger piece, and will also be missing. He is an emotional leader to the Flyers who are looking for anything to turn around a bad start and I believe they will have to wait at least another night to get into the win column.

Avalanche @ Capitals Under 5.5 @ 1.91 0.5 Units

A matchup that once would have been seen at a Capitals practice, I think Varlamov duels it out with Neuvirth tonight. Capitals will be looking to improve their 1-3 record in this one, and I believe will play a good defensive game. This is a similiar call the Avalanche under in Toronto. It is scary to make an under call with this much offensive talent on the ice, but I believe it will play a tighter game than some might expect tonight.

Tough push on that under call, really easily could have been a winning pick. For tonight im going Capitals match result @1.95 /1.5 units. Capitals have been playing better fundamental hockey than their record shows and I think tonight they dominate the oil.

Bob and the blue jackets had the red wings number last year, see if they can keep it up this season. I also don't think goose can get lucky again and is scheduled to start.

15-10, +6.10. Thought the caps would come out looking for a little revenge but they were outplayed badly. I actually ripped it up last night, calling detroit and san joses wins but didnt post sorry boys.

I'm thinking I like the coyotes possibly tonight. Ducks seemed a little complacent vs the flames and i thought were lucky to win that one. I think coyotes might surprise them tonight. Any thoughts?

I realize that the devils should be playing with great desperation, but i loved the rangers game vs caps and I believe the devils just don't have what it takes to win if they play a similiar game and King Henrik is feeling it.

Montreal regulation win -110/ 1 unit.

Impressive wins in vancouver and winnipeg have me thinking this team may have found a groove. Nashville is pretty easy competition, and I think for the odds this is worth a shot.

Karri Ramo is a well below average goaltender in the nhl. He has been known to give up goals in bunches and a game in San Jose is not gonna help his cause. Flames have put up goals so far this year and I wouldn't expect them to be shut out either.

Like I said I think the sharks are gonna light up Karri Ramo tonight.

Coyotes played a good, hard game in Anaheim last night. I do believe the coyotes are a good team that can hold a lead and win any night, but I don't see them having the energy to take down Detroit the way they have played tonight. Detroit has had very impressive road wins in both boston and colorado.

I see canucks controlling 5 on 5 relatively easily if they come out even moderately ready to play. Luongo has been better than Holtby by a longshot, and vancouver has had the caps number in this matchup recently.
