Not a great start for the tourney but I have 3k set aside as my BR for this just in case.

Start 0-3 & down 6 units... The high powered offence of Canada could not pull it off for me. Onto day 2. Gonna slow the bus & go back to single units for a while unless stated otherwise. I'm using decimal odds.

Sorry folks... My laptop fan died & I had to send it out for warranty work... Then my Server board fried

Should get my laptop back in a week or so (I could have fixed it myself (10+ yrs exp working on board level repair for Hp & A+ certified since 99'... A$$holes said it would void my warranty) but they wont send me the part.

Just got my new server board & and have just started to re-install the OS-should be back to normal soon.

Anyone interested in an ASUS K8N-DL Server board with 2 Opteron CPU's & 6GB of ram please pm me.

Will be sending Pix out for Thursday's games.

Swiss VS Czech's
The Swiss have really showed a strong team game & ended at the top of the 'S' group with 20 points. I was not a fan of their win over Canada but shite happens & they have played very well & deserve kudos. The Czechs came very close to missing out this year & ended the prelims with 11 points.

The odds for this match look very skewed & trappish. I see this being a low scoring game with a good chance for OT.

Fins vs Slovaks

Having trouble with this one & am wary even though the Finns finished at the top & the Slovaks finished at the bottom. I see a tight game, & am very tempted to play the Slovaks ml @ 2.9...

Canada vs Sweden
Should be a good game - Pk joins a stacked Canadian roster & should be energized after the way he looked in Montreal's demise. Sweden will be benefiting from the Sedins after their spanking from the Sharks. IMHO, I think PK will have a bigger chip than the Sedins & turn out to be a bigger asset... but that remains to be seen. Canada will also be starting Mike Smith in goal (whew) while Sweden will be going with Enroth. Here's how I'm playing this game.

What a game between the US & Russia! Can't believe that Russia started Bryz - he's like the 'Jose Chouinard' of goltending. Varlamov did not do much better though. In the end, BIG CONGRATS TO THE US - for kickin' a$$
