Regular season (especially in a condensed season) should have no reflection on how a team will do in the playoffs. Playing the same team in a 7 games series is a different game altogether than playing several different teams in that same period of time. Come on, boys.

Coach AV and Schneider both being cryptic. My gut says he either tweaked his groin that's the only injury that makes sense here to me, or he's completely fine and they are just trying to let Schneider start game one without the media circus and the pressure that comes with it. The fact that he practiced today though is a good sign. I'm waiting til closer to game time before betting on this series and game though.

Yeah I still don't feel super confident with the Blues though especially with LA's ownage of them recently. Feels worth a shot to me though in a mild upset.

Here are a few cup long-shots I threw down some coin on:

MIN (+2304) $25 to win $576
-They almost made the playoffs last year and definitely should be in this year with Parise and Suter. They play such a greasy, defensive type of game I could see them going deep.

EDM (+2684) $25 to win $671
-shortened season, all that enthusiastic young talent. Most of their core has been playing during the lockout so they will be ready to go. If they sneak into the playoffs they definitely could go on a deep run.

OTT (+5425) $10 to win $542.50
-The Sens were a win away from the conference finals last year so another +EV gamble I believe. Short season you never know.

COL (+7808) $10 to win $780.80
-another young team that was close to making the playoffs last year before fading down the stretch. Not nearly as confident in their chances as EDM but the odds are too high for me not to take a shot.


Do I expect one of these to win? Not really but for me it's worth a $70 investment to win $500+ if one of these sleepers win the cup. I really think the West especially is completely wide open this year. All the big boys aren't as stacked (DET,SJ,VAN) as they have been the last few years and are aging. I think for sure one of the cup finalists this year is a huge surprise.

Because of the new TV contract 5 years ago, CBC gets first pick and second pick and then TSN gets the third pick. Western Canada has always been viewed as second-class in politics, entertainment, sports etc... No surprise CBC chose OTT/MTL and TOR/BOS over VAN/SJ. Basically CBC threw TSN a bone here by snuffing out the VAN/SJ series. VAN has always had high viewership numbers and for a time even higher than the eastern Canadian teams but that was when TOR is very bad though.

Had MTL ended up playing TOR, CBC probably would have chosen VAN/SJ over OTT/BOS.

Basically because the Leafs had to play BOS we Canucks get snuffed out...there's no way they are gonna give TSN the Leafs rite???

For the other all-American series CBC gets 4th & 6th pick while TSN gets 5th, 7th & 8th.

That sucks. Do you guys know any channels I can get to watch them in the UK I heard premier sport being thrown around but cannot get that on my package. We had Espn when they used to have it but now they don't, whys that?

Not yet, might buy one, could use it anyway, what did you have in mind for that anyway??

I stream them now but quality is not great. Just brought the cable that connects laptop to TV so will be watching them on a nice tv which will be better anyway but just looking to get a good stream or channel for the playoffs. (Even the nhl pro is it, where you pay $50 and can watch all the games online didn't look great quality, the free streams were actually better.)

Not really, some channels if you ask for them they can be added though but don't think CBC is one of them, haven't looked into it either.

I'm pretty sure CBC .ca streams all the games that they broadcast. Not sure if u need to have a Canadian IP address though.
