Well ho-ly smokes. It’s official, from Bob McKenzie:

Toronto Maple Leafs have apparently fired Brian Burke as general manager. Working on official confirmations.

maybe maybe not. How often do you get a chance at getting one of best goalies in the world? Luongo will make them a playoff team for sure. When is the last time Leafs had a goalie as good as Luongo? Never? maybe Felix Potvin was in the ballpark.

Dave Nonis is the next GM of the Toronto Maple Leafs. Unclear whether that is interim or unconditional appointment.

Make the playoffs??? What has he won? Nothing . He's choked yr after yr. He won a gold medal , barely , infront of a team Canada defense . Making the playoffs isn't a guarantee with the leafs defense infront I him ... Ed Belfour, Curtis Joseph , Felix all better goalies

more wins and more shutouts than any other goalie except Brodeur over the last several years in the NHL. Not too shabby if you ask me.

I would be happy to keep them both. Two starters on one team. Its a rare good problem to have. Schneider wants to play and is younger. We can't keep him anymore without playing him and Lu wants to play also. It's kinda like Montana and Young on the 49ers. As a lifetime Canucks fan, this is the only time we've 2 great goalies.
