I still can't believe how Ryan O’Byrne made the bone head play of the year last night.

canadiens totally outplayed the islanders last night.. i got very unlucky.. That goal cost me huge.. i laid -210 on it.. i just knew i'd get screwed. i felt it all game.. This whole game was one sided.. should have been a 5-2 final for mtl.

anways, my prediction still stands correct as i made from day 1.. the habs will be as good as last year.. last year, they ended up with 104 pts.. This year, they are 11-5 and on pace for 107 pts. This year's squad is much stronger than last year's great team..

This is what the habs will be holding up come next June..

They are 11-5-4, which is actually 11-9. I don't think they are as good as last year. They don't have a player that can take over a game. They have a lot of good forwards, Higgins, Pleakanec, Koivu, Tanguay, Kosyn brothers, but none are great players. I do like their defense Markov and Komaserik are very good. But I just don't see them getting that many points, that division is deep, and Boston is playing great right now.

The Leafs or the Blues will win the Stanley Cup faster than the Canadians. Mark my words Mr.Nicky.

Nicky what do you think of Boston? The young forwards are playing great and they got some talent to possible trade for Bouwmeester at the trade deadline. They going to give the Habs a run for the money in that division.

It certainly won't be in Toronto..,

Hey, isn't there going to be an NFL game in Toronto soon?
Montreal could only hope to have such a chance at an NFL game here.
The "terrible" Leafs were good enough to trounce the Habs once already this season.

The soft Habs may do well in the regular season but once the playoffs start the small, soft, Euro/Russian players they rely on will be more interested in returning going home to see their mothers rather than making the necessary sacrifices to be successful in the NHL playoffs.

Saku Koivu?, (all 5 foot 6 inches of him) very intimidating! LOL
Alexei (sometimes I show up) Kovalev? ROTFLMFAO!!

Nicky, keep some money in your Matchbook account, maybe we can make some wagers on the Habs and their opponents if they make the playoffs.

Of course I believe it, thats why I said it.

Watch and see for yourself. Kovalev is an excellent example.

"Grit" type players (ie Canadian/American) are mandatory for a team to have success in the playoffs, Montreal has none. I am very pleased with this fact.

Isles +215 is easily my luckiest win of the year so far.

"Grit" type players (ie Canadian/American) are mandatory for a team to have success in the playoffs, Montreal has none. I am very pleased with this fact.
I agree that grit guys are necessary for the playoffs, and that most of those positions are filled with North Americans. But Europeans are very successful in the playoffs. The top scorers the last 7 years.

Not bad considering there are more North Americans in the league than Europeans. Skilled Europeans players show up the playoffs just as much as skilled North American players. Hossa, Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Franzen, Malkin, and Alfredsson are all physical players.

There are also Canadians that don't show up in the playoffs, Joe Thornton being the prime example.
