UntilTheNDofTimE: 128 Man Champion!
He came into this tournament in arrogant fashion, mouthing off at his opponents and the tournament director; but UntilTheNdoFtime delivered on his bold talk and wiped the floor with the competition in his stunning victory. With sixteen players remaining in the field UTEOT was a 50 to 1 underdog, and somehow put together a string of victories good enough to cement himself as champion.
UTEOT vs Cabo (Sweet 16)
Going into this match, I'd wager a significant amount of SBRpoints that not a soul gave UTEOT any chance at besting Cabo; a resident SBRforum handicapping contest expert. However, UTEOT proved his resilience in clinching a 7-3 +5.46 victory against Cabo.
UTEOT vs Robyn (Elite 8)
In one of the most controversial matches in recent memory, Robyn and UTEOT stole the show both for their flamboyance and close as nails match-up where the lead fluctuated several times. Between the two of them only four games were lost of a combined 21, a highly impressive mark that shows that both contestants gave it their all. In the end, it was UTEOT who emerged with a 10-2 +9.22 to 9-2 +8.87 victory in a thriller that is sure to be discussed for several hundred days.
UTEOT vs ShamsWoof10 (Final 4)
I'm not going to lie. The reason that there was no breakdown at the end of the final 4, and was for all the other rounds, is because I already had 800 words congratulating ShamsWoof10 on reaching the finals. That decision didn't pay off too well.
I couldn't have been more mistaken. I had forgot for a second that I was vesting so much confidence in a man that believes holograms were at the forefront of the 9/11 attacks, a man so poor in NBA handicapping that people have offered to buy his picks with the sole purpose of fading them; a man that was rejected by Swede, a man that let HedgeHog wipe the floor with him in several arguments regarding Sportsbook.com; a man that Curious hung up on- ShamsWoof10.
UTEOT picked several huge ML favorites while ShamsWoof10 attempted to play skillfully, and ultimately that was the decider.
UTEOT vs BestPlay2day (Championship)
Wow. Congrats to BestPlay2day for your second 128 Man handicapping finals appearance! A remarkable achievement that is sure to be remembered for as long as all of CrazyLou's old posts are bumped until the end of time (pun?), an excellent accomplishment worthy of several SBRpoints, I'm sure someone will spare some.
The match could have been closer, but it still felt like a momentous occasion as any 128 Man Handicapping final is. I know I personally chose to refresh my browser waiting for each contestant to play; and neglected several other arguably more important tasks just to sit on the edge of my seat, foaming at the mouth, waiting for a play to be entered in SBRpicks.com.
At the end of the tunnel there was light for only one man, and that was UTEOT with a 4-6 -2.50 to 5-8 -16.85 victory over his counterpart.
