What happened to the week 9 picks?
I havn't been able to view the week 9 picks/winners from the BTP contest yet this week - it is not showing up when I do the search. Just wondering.:>

Tough week, Prick. Next week will be better...

There were ten people who went 4-0, myself included. So if the week 9 records were mysteriously hacked sadly lost, just pay those ten.

Man don't say that. I had a +3 which should be worth a few bucks. Plus a bunch of people at the top had poor weeks again and I think I had moved to within 4 points of the lead.

Don't be spreading that bad mojo.

Oooh. I'm within 2 of the top money spot for the season. I don't know who the leader aakj is, but he appears to be ineligible for the cashola.

Things are pretty bunched up though. It should be quite a tussle.

I got no shot, but still in the running for most regular season winnings.

aakj probably is only in the running for free contest

I have to plead ignorance about the free contest. What's that about and more to the point, would his results have any effect on the cash prizes for the 1, 2 and 3 spots?

the free contest was for people who played in previous years but did not deposit at least $100 into a new account this year, or had accounts at all listed sportsbooks and could not open a new account. they are competing for sbr goodie bags if they finish in the "money" spots.

i had previously asked CrazyL whether or not these "free" players factored into the season ending prizes should any finish near the top. He said they would not, all $5000 will be disbursed as if the free players did not play.

this is incorrect, free contest is for guys who never played in the past and did not deposit. I did not deposit but am eligible because I played in the past.

Something doesn't sound right about what you're saying rm. I'm not looking for an argument but I would have thought you had to deposit to be eligible for the prizes.

My situation was I had played in the past and I have accounts at all the books so I couldn't open a new account - but I still had to send $100 somewhere.

Anyway, it's not terribly important at this point. I mainly just want to make sure I am understanding the money correctly.

mudcat did you get in for sending $100 to an existing account?

I tried to open the lone remainder for me, but apparently is "ineligible" since I won another contest prize there from another forum.

This was the original rules, guys who played BTP in the past were given a one time exemption, not sure about next year? The rules were changed and no deposit was needed from guys who had played BTP in the past.

Well I don't know rm. Maybe I didn't really have to send $100 anywhere. But that's what I did.

I guess at this point, it all falls under the heading of, "Whatever."

I'm not sure I understand your situation but in answer to your question, yes, I sent $100 to my existing Bookmaker account.

For quite awhile, it looked like I wouldn't be eligible at all since I already had accounts at all the sponsor books and SBR was sticking by the rule that you had to open a new account. I grumbled a bit but was going to let it go.

But then shortly before the contest was to start, SBR made some changes so experienced players like me wouldn't be disqualified. Suddenly I was getting PM's from a bunch of people letting me know what was going on.

I came away with the impression I had to send $100 somewhere but maybe it was never necessary.

I wonder if aakj is an SBR employee or he just didn't want to move $100 to a sportsbook.

There was a grandfather clause that allowed long time posters to enter the contest without having to add a new book. They still had to deposit a minimum of $100.

I wish I knew that! No worries, I actually really like 5dimes, so win/win.

Now if we can only get The Prick to actually pick more winners, then I'd be able to get better pay outs!
